I do not like my school. All City Leadership Secondary School’s (ACLA) population of approximately 400 people consists of 6th to 12th grade students as well as staff members. We’re our own little town, where everyone is acquainted with one another. Staff members greet us each morning by saying “good morning” with astounding enthusiasm. On a typical school day a student, having been taught the importance of courtesy, does not pass by an adult without saying, “good morning, sir/ma’am.” The adult, assuming he/she heard the student, will acknowledge him or her and say “good morning”. They then separate to go about their days. I have attended ACLA since 6th grade and had the option in 8th grade to apply to highly ranked schools like Stuyvesant
... of the students. Many of the students have no sense of belonging and see no relevance of to be at a place where even there teachers have no expectations for them.
The role of school boards “is to establish a vision for the community's schools that reflects a consensus of the board, community and district staff.” Although this is their main purpose, they also have to balance a district budget, create a district-yearly calendar, negotiate contract, construction, and approve district curriculum. (Stover 1) Although it might seem harsh to argue with school boards even though they do a lot, it is their job. They were appointed to lead and better the community, guide our children. If they are not mentally ready to be a leader, then why run for a school board member, the focus should be on the children, how to better education for them, and how to make sure they get the most out of every day coming to school.
By having school board meetings, it helps to see what the school’s needs. This is very important for the reason that this may be the only time that a concern parent or person voice might be heard. From this meeting, it was learned that the school board members are willing to help people that have concerns. An example, of this, was when the concern Pre-K parent was worried that she heard that Pre-K has been just a daycare. However, someone from the board mentioned to her that she would personally go with the parent the next day and show her how Pre-K is running during the day. This made the parent so happy because her concerns were being met. I have learned that school board members look out for the students and that they are the number one source that community members should go to if they have a concern or a suggestion to better their children’s

I was fifteen when it all began; the laughing, taunting, teasing, the confusion. It wasn’t always like this. I used to be happy.
During the school day students are faced with many distractions that may keep them from doing their best. Since all of the school shootings in recent years schools have beefed up security across the country. Students are faced with metal detectors as they walk in the school doors. Dogs are used in the schools to conduct random searches and some students find this very controversial. Students are violent and are bringing weapons to school and making bomb threats. These can cause lockdowns that can take hours to search the whole school. This is all valuable time taken from the school day. Police officers are also a new presence in the school system that intimidates students. School is supposed to be a place of learning but now students have to worry if they are safe when they go to school. All these distractions have some students scared to go to school. Every one of these distractions creates an environment that is not conducive to learning.
Starting checking the boxes to see if, I understand the Presidential Leadership Roles. It didn’t go as well than I thought, only got one right and the others four wrong. My next move I made a mediocre choice by having a tax cut but that end up not being a great choice to make. On Commemorate day I have decide to go with putting on the chief-of-state hat and engage America in the symbolic acts on bring up a concerning of importuning and meaning of our American flag of this country. Doing the Constitutional Authority drag and drop, I did pretty good beside only getting one wrong by putting Appoint military officers in the Not Granted by Constitution instead of putting it in the Granted by Constitution where it posts to be. Been ask on how I would
The first day of freshman year my mother advised me to smile and make friends. When I entered the foreign school, recognized by the name Lindale High School, I treated with uncertainty and minor fear. The vibes emitting from the chattering, eager students felt terribly different. I shrugged the uncomfortable feeling off hoping the nerves would vanish. However, as the day progressed I realized my gut feeling was legitimate. The way these people thought and spoke was as if they were superior to everybody. I appeared to me if a person did not live in Hideaway than you were subpar in their perception. If one did not participate in a certain sport or spoke a certain way, they meant nothing on the social ladder. I have been in a plethora of schools, and no other had acted this way. I continued to try for a couple of weeks as my mother urged me to do.
The learning environment in my classroom starts off on a positive note, continues on a positive note, and finally finishes on a positive note. Students enter my classroom and are greeted at the door, I shake their hand and tell them either good morning or good afternoon, depending on what type of day it is. At the beginning of the year students are hesitant to do this, but after that first day I explain to them that in the professional world a handshake says a lot about a person, and often sets the tone for either their conversation or interview. We discuss how a handshake should be firm but not crushing, have good eye contact, and students should smile and say good morning or good afternoon. Sometimes students have had a horrible day,
Last year was actually one of my best years in high school. I was much more focused on passing and getting into my books but I was more focused on getting everything done. My junior and sophomore year were pretty much tied in together since I was trying to get everything done to be in my right graduating class my senior year. I wanted to make sure that I got all of the credits I needed to graduate with my class. Last year I was in the tenth grade because I did not do so good in my ninth grade year the first time so I had to repeat the ninth grade because of this last year was a lot tougher than it probably should have been. That made no difference in how dedicated I was to do everything I had to do to get thirteen credits by the end of the year.
...already talked about, and the ones that I did not get a change to mention, but I don't have time. Parents and people of the community, please see what great people these teachers are, and remember how much of their lives they give freely to their students. Teachers, whether you know it or not, you have affected each of us so much. The people that I have talked about are only teachers on my own list of important people at Amos High School. Every single student in a cap and gown right now has their own list, every one of you has impacted someone's life, and we will never forget you. Without your time and effort, none of us would be where we are today, and none of us would have been the leaders that we will turn out to be. You have made our experience at Amos High School truly great, and it will be hard to say goodbye, but from the graduating class of 2006, thank you.
A man once said “things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.” Over time things change and develop till they are not how they were before. After so long if someone does the same event as you, such as going to school, they will experience something completely different. School has changed in a plethora of ways from a parent’s time through school and then their child’s time through. Things have changed in many positive ways and some not so much. People have many hopes and fears for the future of their schools.
The entire community plays an essential role in the growth and development of children within our community. As a school leader, building an inclusive school culture that is open and friendly to all stakeholders using a variety of effective methods is crucial. There is no magic formula to incorporating a positive school culture, much depends on the leadership of the campus. The leadership on campus cultivates the climate providing support and respect for everyone invested in the student’s education.
In order to be an effective school, all school personnel must work together in a friendly, caring, polite, and respectful manner. There are a number of positions and employees in a school. “A school is a complex social system, and all the people in it contribute to making it run smoothly” (Kauchak & Eggen, 2014, p. 182). It’s important to acknowledge the contributions of all staff and faculty members. The principal, leader of the school is the ...
Before such things can be implemented, there is some specific ground work and strategies that must be done within the schools before situations or dealt with and handled. In this groundwork, principals are vital in the success of the program they implement in their schools (Ballard, Argus & Remley, 1999). They are the conductors of each category needed in a successful program. Principals must hold students and staff accountable for their roles in changing the climate of the school and they must allow for the time and manpower implementing a new program will take. Gil (2002, p. 73) explains that first a solid code of conduct must be in place and operating smoothly. These clearly stated rules are to be communicated to all students and staff what the expectation is for behavior and they must be “enforced without
