One day, my parents, family friends, and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We traveled to Port Canaveral Florida with the Waller family. The Waller’s have 4 kids: Anna, Sara, Becca, and Lucas. Trips with the Wallers are always exciting. They bring such a great energy and make our trips very eventful. The trip was bound to be great. Once everyone arrived in Florida, the parents decided to go and hang out around an area with little shops and restaurants. We ate dinner together and simply hung around afterwards. Both of our families checked into our hotels and got a good night’s sleep so we could be energized and ready to get on the cruise the next day. When everyone woke up, they could see the boat at port through the hotel window. This made us all very excited. All we needed to do now was pack our luggage and ourselves onto a bus and head towards the ship. When all of us arrived at port, we went through security and were finally able to step foot on the boat. The boat was ginormous. It was around 12 stories high and 3 to 4 football fields long. Everything on it was so fancy and exciting. Lights and tropical music were on and it felt very welcoming. Both of our families checked into our rooms and were ready to explore. Once we got to the Bahamas, we went to a straw market. The people there were neat to be around. Their accents were heavy and they always asked people if they could braid their hair for money. Everyone was considered to be in poverty there and they would use the straw market to get money for their children. Most of the people selling clothes and goods in the market were women. They would stay there and get money while their husbands would do the hard labor. The culture there was interesting to observe and learn about.
