Have you ever been to New Mexico? I can tell you from experience that it’s a very fun place. We went to New Mexico for a week to build a playground. The trip was long and hot but it was worth it. The playground was going to be built at a Manuelito Najavo Childrens Home in Gallup, New Mexico. In the middle of their dorms. We arrived at a cottage and starting unpacking, choosing rooms, and all that. Dinner came, we all took showers and went to bed. The next day the supplies for the playground came on Monday in these huge semi-trucks. Some equipment were light and some were heavy, like a metal stairway. Then we got assigned to painting duty and playgroung building.. I got assigned playground duty. We dug a lot of holes for the poles to go in
El Paso, Texas is a relatively large city with a small town attitude. It is one of those cities that grows on you. I embrace the laid back lifestyle and bi-cultural environment - it’s given me an opportunity to develop a unique bicultural identity that influences my motivation to succeed. Especially, being the daughter of an immigrant that upholds Mexican culture. The majority of the population is hispanic, which gave me the sense of mexican traditions that I would share with my family in Mexico. Growing up bilingual ironically provided me comfort in the community. Also, the efforts of the community are being made to modernize and improve the city.
I wonder if I should I start calling Las Vegas, Nevada home now. I’ve traveled back and forth from California to Las Vegas since I was a child. I can remember at the age of thirteen my family and I would take family weekend trips very often. By the age of seventeen I was forced to move to Vegas for 6 months right before my senior year of high school started. Since it was my last year of high school my parents decided to let me go back to California for the last three months and graduate with my friends. Since I wasn’t eighteen yet, I forced to go back to Las Vegas right the day after graduation.
Interesting history, variety of foods to eat, and the spirit of celebrations are among the reason why I think Mexico City is a beautiful place, and a place I recommend you should visit.
On the way to camp Kangaroobie we went to Mr Mcguane’s farm. The year 5 bus broke down so we came late. When we got there, we walked around this little river skipping rocks and getting stuck in the mud. When we arrived at camp, went to our cabins, and I was with, Emily, Felicia, Sarah, Grace and Klara, we packed our bag and went for a walk down to the beach! It was really fun because we went across rivers and walked through the sand dunes! When we got there, we jumped off and slid down the sand
I wake up to the sun shining through the window and the faint laughter from my family downstairs. It's the first day of our annual trip to Rhode Island. I lie in bed for a few moments and think about one thing. Rhode Island. I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than here. I glance at the clock and it is only eight in the morning, but everybody is already up, enjoying breakfast, and getting ready to head to the beach. It's not supposed to rain until later in the day, so hopefully we can enjoy our day at the beach before it rains. I eventually make my way out of bed and tiptoe across the frigid wood floors and join my family downstairs. Everybody is up except my brother, Thomas.
The environment I rise in was a great start in life were all we love together we help in all way never left one behind we are a great friends all ways we try to help all people to make a great community where you can have the freedom to play in the street but in Mexico this is kind of project never work a great country with bad people how don’t let Mexico became a great country and powerful Mexico need a change in all areas a new government a new people how really love the country that kind of people is what Mexico need in the command.
It always felt like running into a warm embrace from someone that means the world to you. You never feel like an outsider but like no time has passed since you last visited, like the last couples years never happened and you’ve spent your entire life there. Nowadays, when people think of Mexico drugs, narcos, violence, and a horrible economy come to mind, but it wasn't always like that. My parents immigrated from Mexico City to Phoenix Az looking for a better future to build a family. However, when my siblings and I were younger we spent most of our school vacations in Mexico. All of our family is there and we were always received with open arms. I had two cousins my age and we were the three musketeers. The part of Mexico I’m from has always
Then the next day we went to a beautiful beach. Right away I jumped in the water and told my brother to come in and we had a lot of fun. We rented a car so we had a chance to look around Cancun. When we got back we went to the pool.
California is one of the most world greatest tourist spots. It is known for its Walk of fame and famous actors, directors and so on stars embedded into the sidewalk, also its winery tours and beaches and a number of other things. It was a piece of the world I generally wanted to go. California has regularly been on my bucket list and a couple of different friends of mines, so we chose to arrange a getaway. December 22nd till December 29th I booked my flight. I bought my ticket on Priceline, which had costs that were rational. I was incredibly wound up, thinking about all the amazing things I could do once I arrived and I couldn't hold up to get to California.
Summer 2014 I visited a beach in Mexico, with me three relatives Brenda, Jesus , and Karla. The water was crystal blue, not like any other beach i've seen before. Brenda had chocolate brown hair that was clutched in one long braid and Jesus had mysterious dark brown eyes. Karla had light caramel hair that was let loose, every time the wind blew it was as if her hair grew a set of wings and flew with the breeze.
Whether it was the summer before or after my 3rd grade year I cannot remember. Some of my family and I were going to Mexico. The ones going were my dad, uncle Joel, my younger cousins (Esther and Isaac), my aunt (Sarah), my older sisters (Rebekah and Deliah), my grandparents (Papaw and Mamaw), and I. We were going to a village in Mexico called Samachicei to help my grandma’s cousin (Wes) and his wife (Julie), who are missionaries translating the Bible into the native language of the Tarahumara indians.
Sitting in the backseat for miles. Stopping at multiple destinations. Driving from one state to the next. Becoming surrounded by nature. No phone service. No sleep for over twenty four hours. My trip to Yellowstone National Park was one to remember.
Last fall break I took a trip to San Diego with my mom, my dad, and my best friend Juliana. Her and I are two peas in a pod. I remember almost every detail from that trip. We rented this quaint blue house that had a stable door in the front. The top half of the door could open separately from the bottom, and it had a charming kitchen with a such a big fridge that when it opened you felt like the house was leaning with the door. The room Juliana and I stayed in was just as cute as the rest of the house It had a white closet that was in the wall, two twin beds with soft pink and blue blankets on them, an old white dresser, and a tiny window next to the dresser that had smudges of dirt on it. The house was a little run down but it was perfect the way it was. The memory of this trip will forever be kept in my mind, from playing volleyball with my feet on the cold sand and hearing the
It all started the beginning of my 2011 summer an experience in my life I would never want to be different. I was just eleven and while I like to consider myself already grown up this trip I was about to take was truly going to but this belief I had to the test. Upon arriving at the airport, I was feeling, a mixture of emotions to be able to finally go to Mexico. It had always been a dream of mine to go to Mexico to meet family and have fun, so while I was nervous and uneasy I was excited. But as we finally approached the departure gate it hit me finally seeing my parent stop before the departure gate that they weren't coming. Upon preparing this trip I knew this was going to happen, but I realized I was going to become an adult I was the older
In 2014 I took a trip to the Rivera Maya, Mexico over spring break. We had been planing all winter to take the trip and it was actually happening. It was the second time I had been to Mexico and I was so excited to get out of the snow and cold weather we were experiencing in Iowa. Iowa winters are very cold and there's lots of snow, so I was looking forward to the nice weather. This is my one week trip to Mexico where I got to do so many new things.
