A Day Relived Who knew a mouse could make all of my wildest dreams come true? Imagine being a child, and being told that you are about to spend the day at “The Happiest Place on Earth.” To any four year old, a day filled with candy, adventurous rides, and even Mickey Mouse himself sounds like paradise. To this day, I am filled with the same excitement going to Disneyland as I was fifteen years ago. Even driving to the parking deck has some sort of magic only Disney could pull off. My first time at Disney was filled with wonderful rides, my loving family, and memories I would keep close to my heart forever. Although every time I enter the park an enchanting wave seems to rush over me, no trip will ever be as special as my first. My family
made it a huge deal. With tons of pictures taken on a Kodak disposable camera, matching outfits that were obviously from the 90s and even a VHS taping of the day, my family made sure I would remember it forever. I wore my princess Minnie ears, ate delicious buttery popcorn, and explored all the wonders Disney had to offer in my rental stroller. Starting at a young age, my favorite ride was the Pirates of the Caribbean. From the moment I step in line until I pass through the exit I am filled with the utmost joy. Even at the age of seven, I know the only thing better than Disney was Johnny Depp in a Disney movie. Although every ride seems to bring back a special nostalgia, the combination of Disney’s Pirates and my celebrity crush holds a bit more favoritism than the rest. Right by Johnny Depp in my list of all-time favorite people, is my family out in California. Living across the country from them my entire life, and being an only child means my time with the ones I love is extremely special to me. I love all my family dearly, but sadly most of them do not get along. That day at Disney is one of the last times I remember them all together with no drama involved. No matter how whimsical Disney can be, nothing could top the enchanting bond my family and I had that day. Although I think of that day fifteen years ago with a smile on my face, the memory is bittersweet. It was the first and one of the last times I would go to Disneyland with my Aunt Renee. She loved Disney more than anyone else in the family, but sadly her story does not have a happy ending. She died of Mesothelioma not too long after our trip. I am so grateful I was able to spend that day with her. It was the perfect day to keep as one of my last memories with her. I will always remember her glorious curls blowing in the wind as we spun around in the teacups. I remember bumping into her car on Cartopia, which now has been turned into Carsland. All of my family remembers her and the fun we shared every time we go back, which makes Disney even closer to all of our hearts. Every one wishes they could go back in time and change something, or just experience a situation again. When I see pictures of my hair in braids, holding Aunt Renee’s hand, and posing next to Cinderella with a terrified look on my face, I wish I could go back. If I could choose any day of my entire life I would choose my first trip to Disney. Nothing would make me happier than all of my family experiencing what Disney has to offer together.
Back in the roaring twenties America was seeing such world-changing phenomenons such as The Great Gatsby, and penicillin, but what took the world by surprise was none other than Walt Disney and his lovable creation, Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney, throughout his entire lifetime and career, always had an idea, a spark, and a way to make things better. Even in the face of tough times, he never failed to keep his optimistic attitude and kind faith in humanity from infecting those around him. A major part of his success was due to the technological innovations that revolutionized the film industry.
Most people, when they think of Disney, they think of “the happiest place on earth.” Walt Disney was the one to start all of this with all of his achievements in movies, television, and eventually the theme park. Disney created a character who’s
In reviewing the vast corporation of the Walt Disney Company and all that it has to offer, one profound statement made by Walt Disney himself comes to the forefront, “I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse” (Walt, n.d.). This statement suggests that the company has a strong focus to continually guide them in the way of the original idea of the company. Even as it watches the changes taking place in society and adapts to the new technologies and innovations, the Walt Disney Company has been able to implement diverse strategies for its growth and prosperity.

Only at Walt Disney World is it possible to time travel, explore the cultures of countries around the world, visit lands of fantasy and adventure, and meet classic Disney characters. Walt Disney World offers slower paced rides for the little ones that are not yet tall enough for the main rides, thrilling rollercoasters for more adventurous folk, as well as rides that tell a story to the riders, and they offer handicap‒accessible rides for people of all different abilities. Personally, my favorite ride is Space Mountain. It is fast, thrilling, and being in the dark adds to the exhilaration! More importantly, the most magical part of Walt Disney World is the chance to meet classic Disney characters. Guests can meet Mickey Mouse and all of his friends, as well as visit the princesses in their castles. Every time I visit Walt Disney World, I wait in line to meet my absolute favorite Disney princess‒ Ariel. I first met her as just a little girl, but I still get excited now, at 19‒years‒old, to meet my favorite princess. Clearly, no matter the age of guests, visiting their favorite attraction or meeting their favorite character can brighten their
Mickey Mouse has been a household name and favorite since before I was born. “Mickey Mouse has been a beloved American icon since the 1930’s. The success if this and other Disney characters helped to build Disney theme parks; first in Anaheim, California, 1955 and then in Orlando, Florida, 16 years later (Ferrell, Hirt & Ferrell 2009)”. With the success in both sales and attracting
There’s an old adage that says Disney World is really a human trap set by a mouse named Mickey. Of course, when you think about the millions of people from around the world who step foot onto a Disney property, you begin to wonder how one mouse has such an effect on people. For one, Disney has been around for years and some people go to celebrate different occasions, other people may go as a result of a friend telling them it’s worth the cost to go. Besides the people going to the famous parks and cruises for their own personal enjoyment, others go because of the appealing advertisement the company creates. In Disney Cruise Line’s commercial for the Disney Fantasy, you can see Disney attempting to persuade people to board their spellbounding cruise by showing various age groups in happy moods while enjoying the ship’s activities that have hidden Disney symbols and branding throughout.
What many people don’t know is that Mickey Mouse wasn’t always a good influence to not only children but to many others also. Over the years Mickey Mouse has evolved into an icon that is worthy of children’s attention and their parents’ money. Through the use of movies, television shows, video games, theme parks and merchandise Mickey Mouse affects most children’s lives every day even if it isn’t noticeable. Mickey Mouse has also given rise to many big movie productions and sales. While being educational Mickey Mouse also entertains children and teaches them a lesson that children enjoy and find fun. Not only does Mickey Mouse have educational purposes he also tries to form a Utopia environment for all families that use and watch Mickey’s products.
The wonderful world of Disney can capture the hearts of people of all ages, from young toddlers to elderly seniors. Every year Disney makes over a million dollars due countless and countless of guests visiting the theme park. Friends and families all come together and visit the Magic Kingdom with such infatuation because the happiness and magic all around. People may wonder who or what is behind the success of the “Happiest Place on Earth”. The success of Disneyland would not be successful without the works from the public relation, marketing, and advertising team.
The man, the dreamer, the artist, the creator, producer, the pioneer, and the developer; Walt Disney accomplished building his own empire along with his legacy that continues to grow every day. Every individual has a story about what drives them to be the person they are today and will be tomorrow. Personally, I love his impressive movies and alluring theme parks. Walt Disney has played an integral part of my family’s life. In fact, my daughter became engaged at the end of Main Street, in a fairy-tale moment in front of the enchanted Cinderella’s Castle, in the Magic Kingdom theme park for her birthday over the holidays. Just about everyone has some knowledge of Walt Disney’s incredible endeavors. However, how many people can say that they have knowledge of the man Disney was before creating Mickey Mouse and what follows?
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
The second I stepped foot onto the amusement park’s property, I could feel the magic swirling all around me. As I walked through the crowds of people young and old wearing Disney apparel and Mickey Mouse ears, everything seemed so enchanting: the cheerful music, the twinkly lights on all of the buildings, and the stores that could have been from my favorite Disney movies. Walking along the streets, I took pictures of everything around me because I did not want to forget a single detail; I took pictures of the vibrant yellow, red, and pink flowers that lined the streets, the buildings with intricate details and designs, and the massive roller coasters that glided so swiftly on their tracks. The air was filled with heavenly scents of sweet churros, and I had to get one; it was delectable. Everything at Disneyland seemed perfect and like it was out of a movie. Even as I was about to leave, I got drawn back in; spectacular, bright, colorful fireworks started bursting right over my head, and I could not bring myself to go. My first visit to Disneyland was truly enchanting and magical. At the time I thought no other vacation could
October 12th 2013, I walked into a room with no clue of how drastic my life was going to change from that moment on. It had come in a time where I was not doing well, I was falling down a very dark rabbit hole and this audition was the first step I took to climb out of it. That day changed me. I felt alive again, I felt like I could begin to be myself again. Days after I received a call with the news that I had been chosen to join 4 other boys as part of a male group.
A Walk In The Park When you were growing up, were there ever family members that you saw less than the others? Well for my family that was my dad's side, even though distance wise they are my closest relatives it's still about an hour and a half to two-hour drive down to North Bergen where they live. My mom's side of the family lives between two and half hours to eight hours away and we somehow managed to always see them the most. Most of the time when we saw my dad's family it was just by chance that we were down by their house and had time to spare, though on occasion we actually planned our time together.
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
