“Are you excited, Jackson?Today’s your big day!” my mom asked me. “ Of course I am!” I answered with a mouth full of luscious velvet cake. “ What did you say? I couldn’t understand a word you just said.” my mom said, giggling. I swallowed my cake and shouted “You bet I’m excited! I’m graduating Pre-school! Who wouldn’t be?!” “ I love your enthusiasm, sweetie, but there’s no need to shout. Now come on, we need to get to our seats before it starts. We wouldn’t want to miss anything!” “ Okey-Dokey Artichokey!” I said in a sing-song voice that sounded just like really immature 4 year old, which describes me perfectly. Skipping, I went over to my seat, which, luckily, is right by my two best friends, Mallory and Campbell. I’ve known them since we first started pre-school, and it means a lot to me that we get to graduate on the same day. Heck, I’ve known Campbell since we were in the baby room, and we’ve been inseparable since then. …show more content…
“ I see you’ve tried the cake.
Is it good?” Campbell asked. “ Yea! It’s the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth! It’s super soft, and it tastes really sweet, like candy, and…. Wait. How did you know I even had it?” I asked. “ Cuz’ you have it all over your mouth. It looks like you face planted into it.” Mallory answered. “ Oh. Tanks for telling me!” I wiped off the cake onto my robe they made us wear. I’m saving you for later, you delicious looking devil , I thought to
myself. “ Tanks? Do you mean Thanks?” Mallory said in a questioning voice. Ugh. There she goes again, running her mouth about how she can pronounce the “th” sound and I can’t. What a show off. One of these days, I’ll learn to pronounce it better than her. Who’ll be cooler then, Mallory? Huh? Fight me, punk. “ Duh. Dat’s what I said. Tanks.” “ Whatever. You just can’t pronounce it. Now be quiet, it’s about to start!” Defeated, I slouched in my chair. At least I didn’t try to swallow the sand in the sandbox the first day. I thought. “ We will now begin to call up this year’s graduates for pictures and diplomas. Once you receive your diploma, get shoulder to shoulder and we will take your picture. Then you are free to do whatever you want, as long as you do not damage anything. Now, please walk up to the stage and claim your diploma when we call your name. Mallory Neighbors, Campbell McCluney, Jackson Wells, William Crocker, and Ryan O’Davis.” Cheers broke out in the crowd. Flashes from the cameras of eager parents temporarily blinded me. As I started to march up the stage, I saw all of my friends together. They were chuckling and chatting, having a great time. Seeing them all together made me realise how lucky I was to have such awesome friends.I started to feel a tingling feeling in my stomach. It wasn’t an “ I feel like I’m going to throw up” kind of feeling. That feeling...It gave me hope and filled me with joy. Yet I didn’t know what it was. So I continued marching up the stairs until I reached the center of the stage. The teacher handed us our diplomas, and we took the picture. I walked off the stage and nearly ran out the door when my teacher stopped me. She looked me in the eye.“I’m going to miss you the most, Jackson.” she told me in a soft voice. She hugged me tighter than I’ve ever been hugged. Seriously. It was like a starving bear was strangling a fish so he could finally eat. Then every one of my teachers came to say their goodbyes. I said “ See ya later, guys! I’ll miss you!” to all my friends. Then, as I walked out the door, I realised something important. That feeling I felt seeing all of my friends cheering and laughing. It wasn’t pride, sadness, fear, or that feeling where you need to poop really bad and it won’t come out. It was love. Or that cake I ate earlier. Who knows. I’m only 4.
she blushed deeply. “To tell the truth it has been so often called a charm that I was
My middle school’s dean smiles while handing me my certificate. I gave her my best fake smile and stood in line with the rest of my classmates who made the honor roll. I put my medal around my neck, held my certificate in my left hand, and put my right arm behind my back. I can’t believe I left my jacket in my mom’s car.
“So those bites were really given to you buy carnivores?” Gilbert asked. He liked watching the Discovery Channel too much.
"Oh?" replied the man. " Did your grandfather eat 6 candy bars at a time?"
“I am happy that you all like it,” she replied. By now, I was shoveling pot roast into my mouth and enjoying every bite of this
"I also made blintzes for you special, darling because I know you love them," she said.
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
"Invaluable I'm certain. Danielle tends to use me as a bit of an offensive meat shield, and bait, so keep that in mind. As an undead, I can take unreasonable amounts of punishment and my armor makes that even more so"
“Yes I did mom, I just love it when the food goes into my body to make me full,” Dinkle said in a cheerful mood.
“I know that sounds really bad,but I did it to protect my friends! We were all sick and tired of Andrew just picking on us, so we stood up for each other.”I replied.
“Would you like one?” He smiled. I knew that he knew how I would answer.
On the Monday October 27th, 2014, for the first time in 4 years I did not wake up at 5:30 in the morning, I was not putting on a green skivvy shirt and shorts. There was no formation, no one that was higher command I had to report to, telling me where I had to go, what time I had to eat breakfast, what was I doing this day or what our platoon plans were for the day. There were no PT (physical training) I had to do this morning. Instead, I woke up grab a regular t-shirt, khaki shorts, and my two sea bags full of clothing and gear that I collected during my time in the Marine Corps. I threw everything in my vehicle and drove from Camp Pendleton, California to Quincy, Illinois. Within two weeks I was accepted to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. For three days, I stayed at the

Final:It was around the middle of fifth grade, and my family had just moved (ugh). (annoyed and sad voice)This meant, new school, new friends, new,.. new(angry) (move hands) EVERYTHING! I (point at self) was going to be the(“) “new kid” at school today.
Then, I heard everyone scream “Surprise!” I could not believe my eyes. There was decoration all over the living room, a cake on the table, music and a big bouquet of pink flowers. My eyes start tearing. I was delighted and humbled by how lucky I was to have such an amazing family. I ran up to my parents, my three brothers, and sisters in law and hugged all of them. We started singing and dancing I cannot forget those moments of my life. Then I realized time was running and that I still had to go to my cousin’s house to do my makeup. I rushed to her house leaving my family at home, so they could get ready, and we could later celebrate after the graduation. As, Sandra was putting on my makeup; I was thinking of how I was going to react when they called my name on the stage. I was smiling as I was thinking of the moment of my
