Being able to control and decide your actions, thoughts, and morals is a huge privilege in today's world. There are many values and challenges of having independence. Some values are that people get to express how they feel and decide what to do, people get the respect they wanted, and not everyone gets blamed for a mistake one person has made; however, There are also many challenges like people get punished for their mistakes, they have to take responsibility for their actions, and people have to live up to the standards they were given. People also get respect for the decisions they make. If someone does an astonishing job on something then they get to take the credit and earn the respect for doing this good deed. Lastly, not everyone gets blamed for one mistake. When one person on the team or in a company makes a mistake then they have to take the credit for doing that mess up. This prevents everyone getting a finger pointed at them and everyone taking the blame. There aren't only values in personal independence but also many challenges. In contrast, there are many challenges to having personal independance. People have to take responsibility for their actions. If someone does something wrong then they have to step up and admit to it possibly be punished. For example, children who do something wrong get punished by being grounded or put in time out. With personal independence they can not just throw it off onto someone else, but they have to take responsibility for their actions.
