Sport was once was the embodiment of fairness, equity and just plain competition. But now, for what seems like too long, sport has been plagued by scandals of athletes taking wanting to win to the next level. The use of performance enhancing drugs and match fixing games have become the two of the most prominent forms of cheating in the world of sports nowadays. The main driving factor for winning these days is no longer just glory, it is money. The need to be the fastest, strongest, most enduring athlete in order to earn the big bucks has been the catalyst for athletes to use performance enhancing drugs in recent times. Similarly match fixing is also (if done right) can be an effective way to earn a quick buck. Steps must be taken in order to crack down upon those tainting the culture of sport.

DISCUSSION
Performance enhancing drugs have, unfortunately, been a part of sport for a long time. Ways to administer drugs, and drugs in general are constantly being updated and this makes it harder to detect them by the usual tests such as urine samples. Running events, sprinting in particular, cycling and bodybuilding are all sports that have major issues with performance enhancing drugs, more so than sports such as lawn bowls or cricket. Betting reforms brought into play an integrity agreement. An integrity agreement includes: “an outline of the measures used to prevent, investigate and assist in the prosecution of any match fixing or corrupt behaviour, provision of financial return to the sport, information sharing arrangements and a consultation process for applications for new sporting events and bet types.”(NSW Government Office of Sport, Anonymous n.d.).
