Peaceful resistance to laws positively impacts a free society. Society has a right for peaceful protests. This ability gives citizens a voice that either the opposing side can agree or disagree with. These peaceful resistance (protests) can reflect on how a problem/situation can affect a population. For example the city of Charlotte, N.C., has lifted a midnight curfew, from the peaceful protesting over the weekend. This example shows how peaceful protesting can improve the lives of many individuals. Peaceful resistance can include famous people who took a stand for their passion. Edward Snowden gives another example of how regular people can stop an evil corporation. Edward Snowden gave information the CIA hid for a very long time. Snowden leaked out CIA applications that gave information of the government spying on calls, emails, and video recordings. These leaks caused major impact on the community and the government. These events caused citizens to not trust the government and give an explanation why this happened. Snowden has brought important information that deserved to be in the public's hand, while doing no harm to the national security of his country, the United States. Snowden then left the country to escape the authority trying to arrest him. Snowden shows the prime example of peaceful resistance and allowing individuals to find out the truth of the NSA's secret projects. This allows Snowden to be called a hero. In the film Snowden, it gives a complete analysis of how Snowden found out the truth of the NSA and showed how he used this information to spread the news of the illegal doings of a government company.
