The Peace and Freedom Party was founded on June 23, 1967. This party was created during the 1960’s while the civil rights and antiwar movements occurred. This party’s intentions back then were to get people to work together instead of fighting each other in order to achieve the goal they were pursuing. Today the party has taken on more issues and continues to address them concerning minority groups, women, the environment and so much more. Their public statement says that they believe in socialism, democracy, ecology, racial equality, internationalism and antiwar movements. Also, they want to represent the working and lower class to give them a voice and bring them together. In other words, this party believes that everyone should live as they …show more content…
On the about page of the Freedom and Peace party, they directly say they are all for the second amendment which is the right to bear arms. The Republican party and the Freedom and Peace party would both agree on the right to have a gun if you choose, while the Democratic party believes that the only people to have guns should be law enforcement and there should be gun control. Now, the Republican and Freedom and Peace Party would disagree on both topics regarding education and gun control because Republicans are all for pro-life or not being able to have abortions, having prayer in schools and anyone who is poor should help themselves because it’s not the government’s job. Whereas the Freedom and Peace Party think the exact opposite of the Republican Party’s views on gun control and education in regards to the lower and middle class. As for me, I do share a lot of interests and beliefs with the Democratic party, but I would definitely join the Peace and Freedom Party anyway. I would join simply because they advocate for pretty much all that I believe in which includes everyone having the choice and opportunity to do what they want and feel is right to …show more content…
I simply like how the Peace and Freedom Party focuses on a broad scale of issues and they go into depth about wanting to have peace and freedom for everyone and protecting and preserving Earth for as long as we all shall live. Also, I like how the peace and freedom party doesn’t simply focus on the large issues that attract people to them, but it seems like they actually want to make a change in the way people think about each other and instead of fighting one another they want people of all races, genders, sexual orientations and more to come together and help each other out. Overall, this is an amazing third party that I would join because they want the same thing I do for this state and eventually for the country as a whole and they not only concentrate on big issues, but small ones too. The democratic and republican parties share some differences and similarities to the freedom and peace party, but The Freedom and Peace party is like having the best of both worlds for me and that is what makes it appealing to
In my point of view, the Democratic-Republican’s Party is the best side to join. As compared to the Democratic-Republican Party, the Federalist Party’s doctrine is grounded on fewer ideologies. This party is not outwardly strong, and its supporters lack the sense of boldness since in political arena, the spirit of boldness is highly beneficial. It helps to determine whether the party will move in a positive or negative direction.
Libertarians often called out the unethical and untrustworthy practices of the government. Most people who supports the Green Party are environmental conscious. The Green Parties supporters are for equality amongst all citizens and non-violence social reform. Both these parties called for a change from the unjust government practices, the representatives tap into the building frustration of its communities. Often casting blame onto the society that governs them. Although very few, we win office. They do caused a big impact on who could win office. Many voters vote for these representatives simply because they are tired with the current state of the nation.
Despite what’s against 3rd parties they still do manage to make some important contributions in our political system. One contribution is there ability to shift other party’s views along the political spectrum slightly.
The Libertarian Party is considered America’s largest third party and believe in total individual liberty including pro-drug legalization, pro-choice, pro-home schooling etc. They also believe in total economic freedom which means they want a traditional laissez-faire approach. They believe that there is a correlation between lower government and more freedom. They want each person to have as much individual rights as they possibly can.
.... Out of all the political parties, the Republican Party was least of all that I identified with. I agree most with the ideologies of the Democratic and Libertarian parties. I think that these parties interest is most targeted to use government as an instrument for the people, rather then working against it, as well as uniting people rather then alienating and discriminating.
All things considered, The Lead, Follow or Get out of The Way Party is a necessary improvement to the current two party system in America because it improves upon both of the current parties, especially upon the current Republican party. Additionally, this party has an excellent chance against the current two major parties because it would attract Republicans without a doubt, and it could also attract a fair number of moderate Democrats. In conclusion, this party is superior to the current Republican and Democrat parties because it promotes self worth and tries to maximize efficiency as a country, and also expands upon the current ideas of both parties, and as such people should support it because it’s beliefs would make the government of the United States better, and further encourage the population to be productive and free.
In order to support their disagreement with the policy they call upon the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights, which preserves citizens of the United States right to bear arms. According to their website, “armed people are free while disarmed people are slaves.” ( ). They believe that disarming or placing restrictions on having a firearm will result in a “total police surveillance state” and compares the policy to one that may have been imposed by dictators such as Stalin or Hitler. The Constitution Party does not believe that disarming the people of the United States will save lives or provide protection, but it will submit citizens and take away one of their crucial constitutional rights.
There have been many different third parties in American history, but most disappeared relatively quickly. The Libertarian Party is one of only six third parties in U.S. history to have lasted 25 years. If history is any indication, most of today’s third parties will probably not be around in another 10 or 20 years. One factor that increases the chance of long-term survival for a third party is not relying too heavily on any one individual. The Libertarian Party is the only one of the five parties to have run more than one person for President, and they have run a different candidate in each of the past 7 Presidential elections.
In conclusion, if I was to choose between the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Party it would be a very clear choice to me. Their belief that a successful nation lies in a powerful, centralized government, appeals to me. I also agree with their views on the Constitution, future American economy, the Bank of the United States, and especially the qualifications you need to participate in government politics. The Federalist way of government shaped the future of America to be one of the most successful countries in the world and I would definitely want to be one of them.
The name of the party is The National Freedom Party. The name of the new party captures the essence of the American spirit built upon the pillars of civil rights and liberties for all the Americans as enshrined in the American constitution. Since independence, the freedom of the people has been the starting point and the finishing point when formulating national policies. America has participated in global wars, experienced a bloody civil war all in the name of freedom. However, with so many changes within the society both locally and abroad, the government and individuals have curtailed simple freedoms such as the right to expression, right to live and right to privacy. This party answers to the call of a nation to restore democracy and the
Liberty party- political party whose main platform was bringing an end to slavery by political and legal means
In 1997, Tony Blair of the labour party won the United Kingdom’s general election on the ideology, goals and a party manifesto of a ‘new labour’, a revision, an update and a reform of the old labour party, bringing new radical politics to the 20th century - although some believe that labour only won the election due to the British publics increasing hate for Thatcher and the conservatives. The term new labour was a reflection on how the labour party was trying to reform itself and depart from the ideas of ‘old labour’ that had failed to win an election since 1974 and take on new ideas and politics that seemed radical, new and progressive and that would regain trust from the British voters. ‘New labour, new for Britain’ was the slogan that first appeared on the party’s manifesto in 1996 and soon became the party’s main slogan for the campaign of the 1997 elections. But how exactly was new labour new? New labour was trying to become more progressive with its politics that reformed all of the key policy domains that the government were interested in. By attempting to reform the party’s manifesto as well as clause IV, new labour attempted to become a new party that could progress British politics rather than rely on traditional politics of old labour. New labour wanted to modernise the party’s by perusing their traditional goals which include job support, economic growth, investments in public services, welfare and redistribution but they also wanted new progressive politics that catered to the minority groups in terms of social justice, for example civil partnerships (King,2002). However, some argue that new labour was not particularly ‘new’ and instead that Blair’s government had betrayed the traditions of the labour party and inst...
Political parties look at all issues and points and criticize them on how they look at other parties. They use publicity to get the word out to citizens to inform them of what is going on with important issues and they present different ways that they can solve those problems. This is a great way to involve the people in the government. People who affiliate with a political party usually support most of the party's positions--at least more than they support the positions of the other party. (Political Parties, 2014)
They believe in cutting back on welfare programs and for a more social conformity to traditional
The UK Green party wants to make a government that works for the common good. They believe that in order for the people to have a properly functioning society they have to be willing to put public interest instead of private interest first. The key ideologies of the party are: an economy that works for all, secure, affordable housing, fossil free, affordable energy, and quality education, with no tuition fees (“What we stand for, 2006-20016”). The Green party is known for being very progressive towards trying to stop climate change, and is a big supporter of having a healthy and clean environment for all. Lastly, one could compare this party to the Social Democratic party, due to the similarities of their ideals.
