At the beginning, Tom is very self-centered and preoccupied with his work. He finds what he wants to do more important than what his wife wants to do that night. Once faced with the reality of death, he realizes how important his wife is to him. This forces him to be strong and stay alive, for her sake. The only reason he made it back into his house was because of how much he cared for her. Tom then decides to go find her at the movies, which shows that he has become less self-centered and more aware of his wife’s feelings.
Simply by using the image of a woman, PETA generates a sense of emotion as women are constantly symbolized as the gender that should be protected. Using this ideology, PETA follows the common mindset of one who follows the social constructs of gender roles, especially in relation to gender. As the woman also places herself in a seductive pose within the cage there is also a strong sexual appeal, an important tool in persuasion. Conveniently placed, the woman displayed also happens to be a wellknown, admired, and respected Malaysian actress and model named Amber Chia. Beloved by many, Amber Chia appeals to a large and diverse audience with her humble and enthusiastic personality and unique appearance.

The snake has acted as a diverse symbol throughout history, representing immortality, evil, femininity, and masculinity. In the book Dream Animals, Marilyn Nissenson and Susan Jonas further reveal the awe that the snake has inspired throughout the centuries, "They [snakes] were believed to mediate between life and death, earth and sky, this world and the next" (19). The snake slithers through our subconscious, evoking varying associations. Cleopatra identified with the snake during her life, and it becomes even more highly symbolic in her death. By examining three movies (DeMille's Cleopatra, Mankiewicz's Cleopatra and the ABC version of Cleopatra) and two dramas (Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra and Mary Sidney's Tragedy of Antonie) different symbolic representations of the snake emerge along with contrasting depictions of the Queen of the Nile. These varying representations of the asp and slightly contrary portrayals of Cleopatra prove to us that we know very little about the enigmatic ancient Queen.
Cats have always had a powerful feminine aspect to their image. This is little surprise considering the number of ancient cultures who associated cats with goddess worship. The Egyptians placed a cat’s head upon their goddess Bast, both the Greeks and Romans made cats attributes of their virgin huntress goddesses Artemis and Diana, and the Norse goddess Freya drove a chariot drawn by cats (Walker 367). As Hans Bierdermann comments, one can see “the frequent feline metaphors in misogynist expressions and clichés: ‘a cat fight’ between two women, a ‘catty remark...’” (60).
At Queendom.com, I also took the Patience Test. I scored a sixty nine out of a hundred. That means that I am usually patient. I agree with this quiz because I am a patient person. I don't mind waiting in line or explaining things to people. I can remain calm and composed. Of course sometimes I lose my patience, usually this happens when something else is on my mind or if I'm in a hurry. Otherwise I think that I'm pretty patient. I also agree that impatience can lead to bad health and stress. I have experienced stress and agitation because I was impatient.
After watching this film, I wanted to know more about it. It was great, but I had never heard of it! This film was released in 2004 starring Hilary Swank (I thought I recognized her!) as Alice Paul. This film was released at the Sundance film festival and got very positive reviews. IN this paper, I want to learn more about the characters and real life people Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, and Carrie Chapman Catt.
Also, the film revealed women empowerment and how superior they can be compared to men. While demonstrating sexual objectification, empowerment, there was also sexual exploitation of the women, shown through the film. Throughout this essay, gender based issues that were associated with the film character will be demonstrated while connecting to the real world and popular culture.

A remarkable story emerged in the New England Journal of Medicine in regards to a cat that could "predict" the deaths of patients inside a nursing home several hours before they died. Oscar, a cat adopted with the staff of the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center throughout Providence, R. I., has at the least 25 successful predictions, in which patients died hours following the cat sat down by their own beds. After the nursing home's staff caught on Oscar's ability, they began alerting all the families whenever the cat used his post next to the patient. Most families tolerate or also welcome his presence, though Oscar becomes angry if forced out of the room of a dying individual, meowing outside the door.
As my Aunt and I entered Judy's house which was a fifteen minute drive from where I live, I noticed cut black and white cat long haired cat with a pink nose and mysterious slanted eyes sneaking up on me near the corner of the hallway of the house. Judy shared with me that Katie was spayed, what foods to feed the cat and that she was tramatized. Judy had shared with me that she took Katie to the Shelter to try to find the owners but to no aval. You see, Katie had showed up at Judy's arcadia door so Judy took her in and kept her for several months before deciding to give the cat away.
