Pathos Argument On Human Trafficking

The trafficking of humans will never be considered okay, but it’s continuing to happen everyday. Biswas and Weissmueller both argue on the subject of human trafficking. In the article “Human Trafficking Scenario in Bangladesh: Some Concerns,” Biswas argues that human trafficking is a big issue and what we are doing is not enough. She believes that strengthening the borders will help put an end to human trafficking. On the other hand, in the article “The Wrong Cure for Sex Trafficking,” Weissmueller argues that human trafficking is happening and prostitution should be made legal. Legalizing prostitution would decrease the need for human trafficking. When comparing the two articles Biswas uses a better logos and pathos argument. But Weissmuller …show more content…

Weissmuller makes a less convincing argument than Biswas but he evidently makes a better ethos argument. Human trafficking is wrong and Weissmuller believes that the people know that. He says “if only we could just stop people from wanting to pay for sex altogether, the market for this nasty trafficking business would disappear once and for all” (Weissmuller, 2014, para. 1). Human trafficking is a supply and demand business because people demand sex and the traffickers supply it. They know it 's wrong but they don 't care, they are on the winning end either way. Weissmuller argues to make human trafficking legal, thinking that it will make it easier for the victims to seek help but what 's that doing to stop human trafficking? The people might know its wrong but making it legal is not stopping it from happening, it 's just making it easier for it to happen. Weissmuller may not make a convincing argument for human trafficking but he does make a convincing ethos argument. Back to Biswas, if there 's one thing that the article “Human Trafficking Scenario in Bangladesh: Some Concerns” has, it’s facts. Every claim that is made is backed up by facts. This is one of the reasons why this article is better than the other.
