The United States has a Republican and Democratic Party. Both Parties have Primaries and Caucuses which are used in the presidential election to help decide the next President. A preliminary election is used to give delegates or chose nominees. A caucus if a meeting of the members of a political party and not just a popular vote. There are pros, cons, and things that I would change about the Primaries and Caucuses. There are different pros of Primaries. One pro of the Primaries format is it allows voters to chose their candidates in a direct ballot. This makes it easier on the voters to chose who they are voting for. Another pro is voting is available to anyone of the legal age that is registered in an Open Primary. With this it makes it possible for anyone who is eligible to …show more content…

One things I would change for both Primaries and Caucuses is that you are would be able to vote without being registered. For the Primaries I would change the way you get an absentee ballot. Everyone would get a ballot in the mail that they would bring to the Primary with if they could make it but if not, they would fill it out at home and mail it to the place where the votes are counted in a certain time frame. If people did not have to be registered more people might vote which would lead to more results on who people want to to win the election. Another thing that I would change is that Caucus would have some form of way to vote if you did not go a Caucus. This would allow people to still have their opinion heard even if they were unable to make it to the Caucus. The next thing I would change is the way Caucuses are run. I would have them run more like a Primary with there still being information about politics, the party, and the candidates, but it would be for a shorter amount of time. I also would change how people vote at Caucuses and would make them more similar to Primaries by using something like a ballot to
