Therefore, parents should help their children in deciding what material is appropriate and inappropriate for them to be doing and viewing like watching certain violent TV shows, or movies or playing violent video games. However it is important to not deprive children of the basic elements of culture. By parents depriving culture from their children, one could very easily become a future criminal because one would be unable to understand the world and its morals and ideals if not taught to understand them to some extent. Therefor it is up to the parents to teach their children proper morals and ideals lest one becomes a
Some psychologists theorize that violence is a learned behavior. Children learn by imitation. If this statement holds true, then are we not responsible to mandate the regulation of violent video games accessible to our children? The level of exposure and alarming growth rate of violent behavior being portrayed as an acceptable form of entertainment for children need to end. Children are a blank canvas; what parents, peers and society paint on them will help determine how they will live their lives. Parents need to step up to bat and accept responsibility for the decisions made within their parental control regarding the allowance of detrimental influences in their children's lives because we are entrusted with their welfare.
It is the parents’ responsibility to guide their children in all of their activities. If parents fail to guide their children, or even go so far as to arm them, then parents are just as liable for the tragic end results as the video game developer who ‘taught’ the child to shoot a gun or a musician who told the child to “go kill yourself,” in a song lyric. Parents must realize that they are the most influential people in their child’s life from the day the child is born. It is up to the parents to try to teach their child the difference between fantasy and reality; how to interpret theatrics meant to sell tickets; how to interpret the true meaning behind seemingly violent content in their entertainment.
Abuse can also bring a better side to the child, making the child want to be more independent. Child abuse is very common, and can affect any child of any race, color, or religion. Child abuse is caused by a parent, for many reasons, and can lead to many kinds of problems for the child. Parents impose child abuse for many reasons, such as psychological problems, low self-esteem, or alcohol or drug abuse.4 Child abuse happens for many different reasons, but all the reasons are still child abuse, and are taken seriously. Child abuse can also occur when parents have too high expectations of their kids, which then leads to abuse. "
In the present days, many young people seek out violence video games for entertainment. According to an article by an experimental psychologist, Pinker conclude that “exposure to video game has not been shown to be predictive violent behavior” (“Pinker”) . In the other word, video is not the cause to violent. There are many others causes that led to children aggressive behavior such as family violence, bullying or any abusive experience. Assistant professor, Malliet supported that “teens have ability to distinguish between fantasy and reality prevent them from emulating video game violence in real life” (“Malliet”). Kids these days are growing up faster therefore they know the differences between reality and fantasy. They know the consequence for committing a crime and they are that dumb to carry out a violent act. Base on these facts, it is safe for kids to play video game.
Parenting is not instinctive, it must be learned. While this is often done through experience, education courses for individuals prior to their becoming parents, and close evaluation of questionable homes could enhance parents' knowledge and the childrens' well being. A high percentage of abusive parents have histories of physical and emotional abuse inflicted upon them during their childhood. Thus, they were deprived of parents who taught them how to be good parents. Child abuse scenarios that seem tragic to others are ordinary to parents from abusive backgrounds, and often overlooked. The absence of good parents is detrimental to a child's learning how to fulfill parental roles. The children from abusive households think that an abusive environment is normal, correct, and acceptable. They grow up believing that and emulate that lifestyle.
...l parents as soon as the home is safe again. For some cases recurrent maltreatment occurs when the child is reunified with the biological parents or original caregivers. Children who are abused can display behavioral problems which can impact many areas in their life. They tend to act out at school and have low academic performance (Webb, 2007). They may also internalize their behavior by becoming depressed and showing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Child maltreatment not only affects the child that is being abused, but the family system as well. Some acts of child abuse can be prosecuted with criminal charges which could result in jail time and other serious punishments. Children show the affects of their maltreatment throughout their life through their behaviors. Child abuse is a serious problem that needs to be prohibited by all agencies.
According to the Violent Media is Good for Kids by Jones, he comes up with a lot of ideas to challenge other people’s bad perceptive toward the violent media. He gives a lot of opinion and research in the article to support his perceptive to the goodness of violent media. I have agree his point since it’s have a lot of detail on how children get develope and the courage they gain after they watch violent media. In my opinion, I think violent media is helpful because I gain courage after I watch superhero, and I admit it’s help a lot for me to overcome challenge. Finally, I hope parents can adapt the ideas of the good effect of violent media, and stop avoid their children to use it for the good
Violence is a huge part of the United States of America. This can be seen with the large amount of violent movies and video games that has been released throughout the years. Because of this, violent media has often been accused of influencing people to commit horrendous acts of crime. This has led to many parents to be very cautious when allowing their children to watch movies or play video games that contain a lot of violence. Some adults try to shield the youth from not only violent media but from anything they deemed hazardous to the youth’s mental well-being.
The government should not control the content of television shows and limit the amount of weekly violence shown. The responsibility of controlling the viewing of television shows expressing acts of violence should specifically be in the hands of parents. Parents are becoming too reliant upon governmental provisions with respect to raising their children and television violence is becoming an excuse for criminal acts. Children, especially younger children, are impressionable, but with proper guidance from a parental source in regards to television viewing, kids are not likely to act out violent television images.
Most commonly kids use video games that are rated for them, but there are parents who don’t know the ratings of video games or do not care about; they only want to see the smile on the kids when they have it and feel proud about it at the moment, without thinking of what’s to come in the future. A kid brain is easily to be influenced by what's around them and what they see and if they would to play a violent game, they would change their thinking and try to act like that and make their self behavior change, it could also happen if I child is playing a good game for them, it would help them learn many things useful for his future beneficially. As well teenagers are most commonly to play violent games and are less watched by their parents like young children, but only they played violent video games, they also play games that takes a lot of skill and tactics such as sports games, adventure games, and also violent games. They all have various different type of rating; from the most harmless games to the most violent and
With the development of technology, violent video games invaded every house, and now it played by every teenage in every family, whether on mobile phones, computers or gaming devices. Some people do not believe that those violent video games effect on the children, while others believe that the government should prevent the selling of these games. However, violent video games made a negative influence on everyone, on children brain like thinking skills, which made their behavior aggressive, on their physiological energy and feeling leading to segregation and violence between siblings in the same family, also on the parenting role of the parents, who are do not know anymore what they should do with their children.
Also, when television shows that allow the character who commits the crime they do not receive punishment, it teaches children that it is fine to commit a crime because there won't be punishment and kids feel that if they do the same thing as the character from the program who committed the crime they will be a hero, that is why many of the programs that children watch send the message that a conflict always involves a winner and a loser. The media in general reduces the different values of life, also makes violence and even death, which seem funny and unreal that children do not learn to respect themselves and in general, because of the violent television that is influencing them even more. If parents ignore or approve of their child's aggressive behavior, or if they lose control too easily themselves, a TV control plan will not help at all. In the same way, if parents themselves show violent behavior, they serve as role models for their children, too.
In a mindset of a parent, he or she plans to educate their child to face the real world. Parents do the best they can to educate their children. Morals and responsibility are well established in the childhood of a person due to the discipline and role modeling of a parent. The disciplining of the children is mainly the responsibility of the parent. The role modeling of parents greatly establishes the morality of a child. An example of a role model of the parents are people who set examples that are imitated. Basically meaning monkey see, monkey do. If a child sees their parent doing good things, they will then do good things. The same principles go for discipline. Discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules or to punish someone due to disobedience. Children must be responsible for accepting the rules of the parents
Someone who influences his or her life can also be known as their role model. Role models can be seen any and everywhere. Most role models are someone famous or well known that is a thousand other people’s role model. On the contrary, my father, Brian Flynt, is my role model. Although my dad is not a millionaire or famous athlete he is my role model and the man I want to be.
Parenting carries love, moral values, life skills, knowledge, traditional and so on to their children all the time. Most of the children practice the moral values, knowledge, and tradition which taught by their parents. In this way, most of them follow and believe in their parents’ word. Basically, children world views and mind were deeply shaped by their parents. Most of the children exercise what their parents practice. Children learn to make sense of what is going on around them by interact with their parents and surroundings. Through the “eyes” of their parents, they learn to see, think, question and look for answer which can satisfy them. If children were raised in a good or positive way, there is a very great probability that our society would be better off. Hence, from my point of view, parenting should be a privilege for a better future not only for the children it own but also our society.
