It isn’t cheap to raise a child, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of eighteen years. From buying housing and transportation, food, clothing, health care, and a list of many more things, raising a child is a very expensive thing to do. If the parent can’t take care of his or herself financially then they can’t be expected to fulfill the financial needs of the child. Some people who may not be able to afford to raise a child should receive help from the government to be able to, but a bigger part than having the money is organizing it and utilizing it on the right things to help the child. Parents also need to be able to spend time with their child, which is a very important part in creating a bond with the child. Children often seek out for affection and a big part of being a parent is being affectionate. A parent must always show their child unconditional love and always make a child feel safe. The child shouldn’t only feel safe or secure in a physical way but should be mentally stable and have a good self-esteem. A self-esteem is helped built by a parent by encouraging positive from the child, the positive behavior being rewarded and also letting the child learn from his or her own
The role of nurturing parents in a family is an important factor that helps in the growing of personal independence and is the basis for emotional stability.
In the essay, “Licensing Parents” the author Hugh Lafollette argues that a licensing system would protect children and society overall. For Lafollette, a licensing system would train parents to obtain a basic level of expertise and would separate those who stand a serious risk to children. His argument for parental licensing is based on an effortless set of parallels. The most obvious example that he gives is the licensing system that governs the driving of cars. He says if you want to drive a car, you must earn a driving license which involves passing a test of comprehension and skills that establishes a “minimum” level of competence.

...cal, emotional, and cognitive development for the child. The warmth and empathy shown to the child helps the child develop at a normative rate. While the attachment is important during infancy, it is also important to maintain the attachment throughout adolescence. Children who continue to share a secure attachment with the parent oftentimes have an easier time making friends and working through social issues (cite).

A parent’s parenting styles are as diverse as the world we live in today. There are many approaches to parenting and everyone has their own preferences as to what they think is best. In a fast paced rush around society, it is hard to know what the best choices are for your children. There is a struggle to balance what needs to be done with what can be done, and this has negative and positive feedback on the children. Parents play a critical role in shaping and guiding their children into functional confident adults. An effective parent will learn as they teach in order to grow into understanding with their children.
Relationships play an essential role in people’s everyday life. A person’s first relationship is the one with their parents, which has a huge impact on the way offspring will relate to others, and develop future relationships. There are many aspects that come into play between parents and their children, such as, the personality of the family members, the education received from the parents, the family history, and the environmental situation in which the household is located. Some aspects of St. Ursula’s story seem more fiction than fact. An example is her 11,000 virgins. I think that is crazy that she has 11,000 people that want to follow her. Another example is that people would be so committed to join Ursula to live their holy life. These examples support the fact that some parts of St. Ursula’s story seem more fiction than fact.
middle of paper ... ... Parents must be vigilant and cautious of their actions in front of children. Parents must maintain an active status in the child's social and academic life, to be able to guide the child in the most correct manner as possible. Children are the future of the world and need to be nurtured and educated in the best conditions. Thus, parenting is one of the most challenging and admirable responsibilities that people can experience. Parenting plays important roles in the development of children’s characteristics. Some people nurture children depending on their own ways. Others get advice from friends or books. Parenting can be divided into three groups: authoritative, permissive, and democratic parenting.

In the process, parents will instill children with family values and goals, while teaching them the accepted norms and values of society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own children become mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life.
There are many different things that I take into consideration when it comes to parenting. Parents have many different responsibilities but there are three in particular that I think are very important. Being a good role model is important, as well as listening to your children and disciplining them appropriately. If you want to be a good parent you have to put your kids first.
Parents and their parenting style play an important role in the development of their child. In fact, many child experts suggest that parenting style can affect a child’s social, cognitive, and psychological development which influence not just their childhood years, but it will also extend throughout their adult life. This is because a child’s development takes place through a number of stimuli, interaction, and exchanges that surround him or her. And since parents are generally a fixed presence in a child’s life, they will likely have a significant part on the child’s positive or negative development (Gur 25).
