In Brave New World there is a society brought about by new technologies and futuristic ideas that, in 1932, seemed impossible to even think about. Aldous Huxley was very bold by making such assumptions in which closely relate to a society that we currently live in today. There has been many medical advances throughout history that has been created through time. Brave New World is obsessed with the idea of a consistent routine and happiness; It seems that they are doing almost anything to achieve this. Therefore different situations have been demonstrated through parenting for example. In Brave New World the characters are modified to feel and perceive things a certain way; In relation we are raised by our parents whom feel and see things in a distinct way. Thus being that we generally react to specific experiences that have been brought down upon us. “A gramme is better than a damn”, (Huxley 89). This is thought of that is used to control how they feel and alters how they think. When it comes to technology drugs seem to play role and I do not mean the bad drugs.“Oh, I wish I had my soma!” (Huxley 116). This drug

Furthermore the idea of “ending is better than mending” (Huxley), is written throughout the novel to the point where people are conditioned to hate nature for example as well as other things such as, cold/hot weather, the countryside, books, and flowers.

In conclusion, ……. While reading this novel you could agree that there have been many different similarities between both the book and society today. However Huxley did not ‘predict the future’ but instead concluded what the future could be like. With that being said Brave New World is not the same as our society yet, but more of a preview of what could be revealed to us in future
