Paramedic

A paramedic is a senior healthcare professional worker at a critical accident or a medical emergency. Paramedics generally work on their own, or with an emergency care assistant, who respond to emergency calls as part of an accident and emergency crew or at times as a first responder, or an ambulance technician, who asses the patient’s condition and observe them during critical time and therefore give essential treatment that is needed.my these observations they will recommend what a certain patients needs. For example they will administrate oxygen or drugs to people who need oxygen to survive and drugs to keep their sugars levels levelled and blood pressure in control.

It could be someone who has fallen from a building or someone who has broken their leg. The paramedic crew are based at every local hospital they go out in all weathers in day or night at all hour, they also work closely with nurses and doctors to discuss a patients wellbeing and briefing them as the patient arrives to let them be aware of the situation the patient is in. they also work closely with the police and fire brigade this is because if an accident was involved with a crime the police would be alerted as soon as possible and the fire brigade are needed because if there is any sign of fire at the scene of the accident .Paramedic’s may also have the job to comfort the patients relatives if they are in a state of not coping after the …show more content…

Forgetting or losing your equipment, arriving late for work, not replacing supplies or properly maintaining your equipment will hamper your ability to do your job right and negatively impact your relationships with co-workers. Plus, constantly being in catch-up mode is stressful and distracts you from doing your job well. Get organized before you start your shift and your job will be much easier and you'll get along better with your co-workers.
Personal qualities
As a paramedic, you would need to stay calm while dealing with life and death situations, to be highly skilled, quick thinking and decisive at the same time as providing a reassuring environment for the patient and relatives. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a serious interest in the care and well-being of patients, and the academic ability to cope with examinations. You would also need to be physically fit and emotionally stable.
