August 30, 2005 China Arnold got drunk after a fight with boyfriend, Terrell Talley, and placed her 28-day-old infant daughter, Pallas Talley, in a microwave and turned it on high for two minutes. Little Pallas Talley passed away the next day from internal burns (Link 15). The autopsy found that not only did Pallas die from the microwave, but her DNA was all over the inside of it. (Link 15). Arnold told the police that if she wasn’t drunk, then she guesses Pallas wouldn’t have died. Arnold’s bail was set at one million dollars (Link 15). Arnold’s first trail in 2006, the defense focused on the prosecution’s inability to defiantly prove that Arnold placed Pallas in the microwave, which sort of worked. One of Arnold’s three sons testified a
According to the Innocence Project (2006), “On September 17, 2001, Chad wrote the Innocence Project in New York, which, in 2003, enlisted pro bono counsel from Holland & Knight to file a motion for DNA testing on Tina’s fingernail scrapings.” The state had tested the DNA that was under Tina’s nail from the first case but at that time it was inadequate and could not be tested. It was not until now that we have the technology capable enough to test it. In June 2004, the test came back negative to matching both Jeremey and Chain Heins but did come from an unknown male. The state argued that it was not enough to overturn the conviction so Chad’s attorney asked the state to do some further testing and to compare the DNA from under the fingernails to the hairs that was found on Tina’s body. It was in 2005 that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed that there was a match between the DNA under Tina’s nail and the pubic hair. According to LaForgia (2006), “this particular type of DNA, the report stated, was found in only about 8 percent of Caucasian American men.” During this process there was a new piece of evidence that Chad’s attorney had learned about during the appeals process, a fingerprint. There were some accusations that the prosecutors never disclosed this information about this third fingerprint and if they did it was too late. The jurors did not even know about this fingerprint and if they did this could have changed the whole case. This fingerprint was found on several objects that included the smoke detector, a piece of glass, and the bathroom sink. It was soon discovered that this fingerprint matched with the DNA found on the bedsheets that Tina was on. This was finally enough evidence to help Chad Heins become exonerated in
Laci Peterson, a 27-year-old wife who was eight months pregnant, disappeared on December 24, 2002. When the body of the California woman and her unborn child were found four months later, her husband, Scott, was charged with two counts of murder. Detective Craig Grogan gave a sworn statement that he had probable cause to believe Mr. Peterson committed two counts of the crime of 187 Penal Code, homicide, on or about December 23, 2002 or December 24, 2002, in the county of Stanislaus. April 17, 2003 at 0658 hours the Judge of the Superior Court in Stanislaus County, California issued a warrant for the arrest of Scott Lee Peterson. The court found that the District Attorney’s office did, in fact, have probable cause to bring Scott Peterson in.
...announcement that she was indeed dating Scott but had no knowledge that he was married and that she was not a suspect in the investigation. Laci’s Parents had turned on him once this came to the light. Police were going to treat Laci’s disappearance as a homicide but on April 13 of 2003 a couple spotted what looked like a male fetus. On the next day a pregnant woman washed up in the same area of the male fetus in the Berkeley Bay. Forensic scientists confirmed that the fetus and the woman was Laci’ and her and Scott’s son with matching DNA. On April 18, 2003 Scott was arrested at gun point. Police felt as though Scott was trying to flee to Mexico because he had dyed his hair and grown a goatee and had $15,000 in cash, survival gear and his brother’s ID. It took the jury seven days to reach a verdict of the death penalty. Scott Peterson is now sitting on death row.
On June 20, 2001, a terrible tragedy occurred, as Andrea Yates drowned all five of her children in the bath. After drowning each child child, she picked them up, tucked them in her bed and called in her next victim until all 5 children were deceased. After she had successfully drowned each child, she calmly called her husband and notified local police that she was in need of an officer. As this case reached international news, many pondered what would make the mother of five do such an abysmal thing. Once the investigation began, it became acknowledged that Andrea Yates was influenced by several psychological perspectives and was not in her right mind when she committed the heinous crime.
According to news reports, Lambert and Lindsey were involved in bitter divorce battle and subsequent alimony and child support battle which had dragged on for years in the courts in Florida. The parties had three (3) children, ages 16, 18 and 20, who made public appeals and pleaded with the community for information leading to the return of their mother after Kimberly Lindsey went missing from her West Palm Beach Home after a brutal altercation with Dr. Lambert on October 27, 2013. Ms. Lindsey was reported missing after she failed to show up at her job as a Nurse for the West Palm Beach School District. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office reported that a body was found October 31, 2014 in a sugar cane field in south Florida. After DNA testing, it was reported that the DNA was a match to Kimberley Lindsey (WPBF.com). According to Police this murder was “brutal and premeditated”; the body had been decapitated...

Casey Anthony was accused of killing her two-year-old daughter Caylee, but because of lack of evidence, Anthony was convicted not guilty. John Cloud, from Time magazine, implies, “And yet virtually no one doubts that Anthony was involved in her child’s death. In fact, her lawyer admits that Anthony know how her daughter’s body would be disposed of” (“Few Doubt That Casey Anthony Was Involved in Her Child’s Death. But Fascination With Her Case Has Made It The First Major Murder Trial Of The Social-Media Age”). They found Caylee’s corpse duct taped by Casey’s parent’s house, in Orlando, Florida. The only evidence they found was in the family Pontiac Sunfire. The stench of decomposing flesh overpowered the trunk of the family’s car. “Why did Anthony let 30 days pass between the time Caylee went missing and the day police were notified?” questioned Tresniowski, “And how could she so blithely dan...
In an article featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer on January 30, 1987, titled " A Woman's Wintry Death Leads to a Long Dead Friend ", the body of Frances Dawson Hamilton, 70, was discovered by police after she had frozen to death in her home. Even more shocking was the discovery of a second body, that of Bernard J. Kelly, 84, in an upstairs bedroom. Kelly had apparently been dead for about two years, based on the last sighting by neighbors. The body was found in a twin bed, clothed in long johns and socks and draped with rosary beads and palm fronds. There were also two boxes of Valentine's Day candy beside the body. Hamilton had apparently been sleeping beside Kelly as a second bed had been pushed up alongside his deathbed. (1. Kirsner, 119) (2. Pothier)
Her body had been bathed and thoroughly washed before being placed, it was also completely drained of blood [2]. Two detectives were assigned to the case: Harry Hanson and Finis Brown. When they and the police arrived at the crime scene, it was already swarming with people, gawkers and reporters. The entire situation was out of hand and crowded, everyone trampling all over in hopes of good evidence. One thing they did report finding was a nearby cement block with watery blood on it, tire tracks and a heel print on the ground.
“ Does someone actually think I would kill my daughter because she wet the bed?” said Patsy Ramsey, JonBenet Ramsey’s mom. JonBenet Ramsey’s murder in 1996 still shocks the world today.

Rose Mary is an inattentive mother. When her daughter Jeannette was only three years old, she was hungry and decided to make herself some hot dogs. She was wearing her favorite tutu but got distracted by feeding her dog one of her hot dogs. Shortly after she gave the dog the hot dog she caught on fire while she was under no supervision of her mother who was painting in the other room. Another instance was when Rose Mary was sleeping and Rex was at a bar. Rose Mary and Rex keep the windows and doors open to keep the air flow in the hot house while all of the kids were sleeping, but Jeannette woke up by “someone running his hands over her private parts” (103).

Melissa Bathelemy came next. She was twenty-four, and went missing in July of 2009. Megan Waterman was a twenty-two year old, who went missing in June of 2010. Amber Lynn Costello, a twenty-seven year old woman who went missing in September 2010. All four of the women were connected, little did they know. All four women were strangled, and advertised their services on Craigslist. No one really knows if all the bodies and remains are from the same killer, but most suspect they are. The next remains that will be mentioned, seem to have been a while before the four women who were strangled. The modus operandi seemed to have changed, beginning with Maureen Brainard-Barnes. Jessica Taylor was killed when she was twenty years old. Some of her remains were found in 2003, while the rest were found with the other victims. The remaining victims have yet to be identified, but were located either with the rest of the bodies, or washed up on shore. Jane Doe 6 was presumed to be killed between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five. Her remains were discovered in 2000. A young Asian male victim was presumed to be killed between the ages of seventeen and twenty-three. The body of a young child was found near the remains of the Asian man. The child was estimated between the ages of sixteen to twenty-four months old at the time of death. One of the bodies found in
