This is a comparative essay of Osiris and Jesus. In this essay I will compare the two stories on 8 points that I found kind of overlap on one another. It should be pointed out that the Egyptian myth came around more than 2000 years before Jesus was even said to be born.
The first topic is the Birth of the two Gods and the signs given as to when they came. When Osiris was born To Geb the Egyptian Earth God and Nut the Sky goddess a voice came to Pamyles to spread the good word and Pamyles attended him for life. When Jesus was born in Jerusalem he was born of the Virgin Mary and of the father Joseph. The night he was born a voice came down from heaven and a shepherd tending his flock heard it and went to see the child, also three wise men from the east came bringing gifts.
Both Jesus and Osiris were divine children but were supposed to lead a life of the common man. Jesus came as a result of a Virgin pregnancy for his mother Mary and he is the only son of God and his father Joseph was a poor carpenter. Osiris was born of 2 Gods and is the great Grandson of the most powerful God of Egypt, Ra, but was attended all his life by Pamyles and was brought up to be a king of Egypt.
Osiris taught the people of Egypt who were barbaric at the time how to feed themselves by growing crops and how to worship the Gods and he gave them laws to live by. Osiris was a great king and after he taught the Egyptian peoples how to be civilized he then left and when on a journey to teach other peoples the same laws on how to be a civilized culture. Jesus through his preaching gained 12 disciples who he taught the key to everlasting life. Jesus during his 33 years on earth traveled around to different countries of what is now the Middle East an...

...her husband and he is finally able to go to the afterlife. Where he will stay till the last battle with Seth takes place.
In the final cross over in the stories in my opinion is in both stories after the last battle is waged and won by the righteous side the followers of Osiris and the followers of Jesus and those that have stayed true to their faith will inherit the kingdom of everlasting life and will live with their king forever.
In conclusion since the story of Osiris came more than 2000 years before the story of Jesus and they were both descendants of the most powerful god in each religion I believe the Christian story is kind of a mix between what the people had heard over time from other stories such as Osiris and what the writers of the gospels of the bible needed to complete their tales of Jesus and his time on earth and how it applies to them.
All comes to show, that Christianity took hold on the ancient world because it was easy, convenient and powerful. Christianity is a strong religion seeming as it still stands
The Aqedah as narrated in Genesis serves as a prefigurement to the Passion of Jesus Christ. There are great typological similarities in these two narratives, but in the Gospel we find the reality of truth, Jesus, who is the completion and fulfillment of the type modeled by Abraham in the Aqedah.
The film The Prince of Egypt is in the most part very accurate with the exception of some minor details. The movie was released in 1998 produced and animated by Dreamworks which was about the story of Moses. The first topic that will be discussed is that the the plot was overall the worst section done. Another accuracy of the film that will be reviewed is the settings element is the best and most accurate part of the film. Finally, the diversity in the characters will be reviewed and are mostly accurate in the whole. Therefore, there are many similarities and differences between the Bible and the movie, ‘ The Prince of Egypt’.
The slight differences in The Passion of the Christ and the gospels' accounts are made to create a more dramatic feeling for the viewer. The addition of devils and Satan to the story adds more emotion, and stresses the dedication Jesus had to his people. Overall, the differences between the stories are to show a more creative depiction of the sacrifice and determination that Jesus gave for his people.
The ideas of this story within the bounds of Greek mythology seem to coincide quite well with the Christian faith; it is almost as if Sophocles meant to copy the ideas of a religion that was not invented until 425 years after his story was written. That makes this impossible, yet it may just prove again the point that there are many similarities within all of the different religions and denominations of these faiths.
Islam and Christianity have different scriptures, with Christianity using Bible and Islam the Quran. An account of works and life of Jesus are offered by both texts. Islamic theology’s important part is belief in Jesus, and Muslims consider the Christian Gospels as changed, while Christians view Gospels to be commanding and the Quran to be a late, apocryphal or fabricated work. Though the two religions believe in Jesus’s virgin birth, the Quaranic and Biblical accounts differ.
On the other hand, Christianity traces its origin from Jesus Christ from whom the disciples, at Antioch, were first called Christians due to their manner of living, which was like Jesus Christ’s. Both Christians and Jews believe in one God who is called Jehovah; however, the point of divergence is that while Christians believe in the trinity (that is, God is one substance but three persons in one namely the Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the Jews believe in God being just one substance one
Thesis statement: In this research, I will investigate the basic concepts of the Egyptian mythology and its gods.
...ics, their religious texts contain tales that are almost completely opposite. Biblical scholars accuse Hebrews of borrowing and even plagiarizing stories from neighboring religions and cultures. So which stories can be deemed true within The Bible and The Koran? The truth is obvious and can be found within the revelations of Muhammad.
Christianity and Judaism are two religions which share an origin. Abraham is the father of faith of both Christians and Judaists. The two religions are based on the Old Testament; however, Judaism has refused to acknowledge the New Testament. It is said that is a Judaist accepts Christianity, and then become complete. However, if a pagan accepts Christianity, they are converted because they do not have the basis that is provided by Judaism. Both Christianity and Judaism believe in the existence of heaven and hell. Both religion follow the same ethical code and believe that God had the same plan for salving the fallen race. The two religions also preach of the sinfulness of the humankind and, its consequences and the righteous judgment of God (Avery-Peck & Neusner 2009). Nevertheless, despite the fact that Christianity and Judaism have several similarities, they have a wide range of differences in their beliefs, teaching and practices.

The book of Revelation literary genre are apocalyptic, prophetic and epistle. The author of this book is John of Patmos. Its was written circa A.D. 95-96 (Hindson & Towns, 2013). There are many key themes in Revelation. The most important themes are the message to seven ecclesians, three and a half years of tribulation ruled by the beast, Jesus’ second coming, the final battle between Jesus and Satan, the millennium, and beyond the millennium. The purpose of the book of Revelation was to inform people about the events before and after Second coming of Jesus Christ. Revelations denotes the past, present and future of what is yet to come during Earth’s end of days. Major events that Revelations denotes will occur when Jesus returns include: National
...s the Hebrew Messiah, thus finally saving the Jews from their sins. His death on the cross and resurrection provided Christians with the opportunity to be forgiven from their sins and have a chance to live with God for eternity in heaven. While Muslims respect the teachings of Jesus, they view Him only as a great prophet, but not as great as Muhammad. They believe that God replaced Him with Judas on the cross, thus dispelling the Christian belief that His death saved them from their sins.
The stories are similar in many ways, but they are also very different. This can be related to the relationship between the two religions themselves.
Christians view Jesus as the son of God and part of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). They believe Jesus to be the incarnation of God in the flesh who was sent to Earth to atone for man’s sins. In fact, because of this belief that Jesus was a divine being, Christianity, the once small sect of Judaism, manifested into its own religion incorporating Christ’s teachings. Specifically, Christians see Jesus as the Messiah that was promised in the Old Testament, whereas Jews don’t and are still awaiting for him to come. Muslims consider Jesus as one of the prophets of God, interestingly he was the last prophet before Muhammad. To Muslims, Jesus is also the messenger of God for the people of Israel, but he is not regarded as the son of God. Judaism, on the other hand, does not recognize Jesus as either the son of God, a divine being, the messenger of God, or even as a prophet of God. Instead, he is viewed as just another ordinary Jew with no special connection to God. The other difference between these three faiths is how they view human nature. To Christians, man is thought to already be born with sin, due to Adam and Eve, who betrayed God’s trust, thus condemning the rest of humanity. As exemplified in Psalms Chapter five verse two, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me” (King James Bible Online). On the other
