Outsider Freedom to me is to have the opportunity to act on something that comes to your mind. Let's not be naive, freedom is a list of actions we are allowed to make. What I’m trying to say here, is that we don’t have complete freedom, there are certain behaviors that are not allowed in a society which still have an individual under control. That is not freedom, and being on John’s shoes isn’t either. The biggest mistake that John could have done was agreeing to leave the savage reservation. John isn’t anything like his mother, he had no business in the World State. He wasn’t conditioned to think like Linda about the way the savage reservation works, “take the way they have one another here. Mad I tell you, absolutely mad”(Huxley, 83). Since

This book has great balances of love interests, actions, and internal conflict with characters. It has an interesting story so far with new pieces coming up every few chapters that are very important. Like Al attacking Tris, Eric talking about Divergents and how the rebels must be eliminated. Tris and Four are developing feelings for each other, which I find weird because he is basically her teacher. They are only two years apart, so the relationship is not that awkward. In this journal I will be predicting, evaluating, and questioning.
The sword represents destruction and can signify war. The torch stands for the expansion and the pure light it
“At the window she raises the shade and a dusky southside morning light comes in feebly” (Act 1, Sc 1, 24).
According to Dictionary.com freedom means “the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint.” Freedom. What does freedom mean to you? Even though freedom means the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint, I believe that freedom means being able to accomplish what you desire and when you desire it without anyone saying anything, by reason of the comparison and contrast of our society and the society in the book Anthem by Ayn Rand, the negation of the word freedom, and synonyms of the word freedom. I believe that you should accept the consequences of the actions you take when you have your “freedom” as well.
According to the Collins Dictionary, “freedom” is defined as “the state of being allowed to do what you want to do”(“freedom”). The definition of freedom is simple, but make yourself free is not easy. Concerning about some common cases which will take away your freedom, such as a time-cost high education attainment. In this essay, I shall persuade that everyone should try his or her best to insist on pursuing freedom. For the individual, it appears that only if you have your personal freedom, can you have a dream; for a country, it seems that only if the country is free, can the country develop; for mankind, it looks like that only if people has their own pursuit of freedom, can their thoughts evolve.
God has given us as human beings free will. Although if we make choices based on our own free will we must be willing to take the responsibility for the effects that our decisions have on ourselves, on the people around us, and on society itself. Freedom, I believe, is the way in which people live or behave without others annoying or interfering in his or her affairs. People should benefit from freedom, equality and justice. Absolute freedom is sometimes very dangerous and may destroy the basic principles of the society. A lot of people believe that freedom means doing whatever you want, whenever you want.
When a native author Greg Sams said that the reservations are just “red ghettos”, the author David disagree with that. He thinks there must be something else beyond that point. After his grandfather died, he somehow changed his mind. Because he could not think anything e...
Chapter 6 of part I of The Stranger concluded with Meursault’s conscious decision to shoot an Arab because of the physical discomfort the Arab’s knife caused him. The significance of the ending of part I is that it was the first demonstration of Meursault’s awareness of the possible consequences of the act that he committed. This awareness continues into the second part of the novel as he is arrested and trialed. The reason for Meursault’s trial is the murder of the Arab. His insensitivity towards Maman’s death and lack of a social conscientious are factors that contributed to support further investigations, but are not reasons to trial him because they have not ‘harmed’ society on a way that he could be arrested for. For example, if Meursault
Freedom is a state of mind and until we embrace freedom we will be left behind. No one can give ‘freedom.’ To the contrary, freedom cannot be attained through war. Freedom is the ability to liberate your mind. People in prison are free and those on this side of the
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. In America there is numerous of choices that someone may make on a daily basis. If someone were allowed to make their own choices and were being told what to do; then they would not be free. When someone is allowed to speak when they want to, and say what they want; such as their opinion or view of something. Being allowed to have a right to speak is one of the most important characteristics of being an American. Thinking and stating your opinion in any predicament it a strong part in being a citizen because people in the United States are known for being able to think in their own ways. Freedom can stretch too many things such as being able to do as they please, they are not forced into doing anything that someone may want. The citizens of the United States are not made to do anything that one may not want to do; like
I think that what the author was trying to imply in this passage was that in his personal experience, he has noticed that many people take many things for granted and that they don’t live their lives according to what they want and need to do. So much is wasted during one’s lifetime, and people just allow their lives to pass them by.
Freedom to me is the right to do what you want to do only if it's not breaking the law. This includes the right to bear arms, freedom of speech, not being forced to join the military ( unless you get drafted). Freedom is also the people in the united states, What i mean by that is people have rights many rights that makes them a part of freedom too. With freedom there are many responsibilities too. One of the biggest responsibilities is the right to bear arms. This is probably one of the biggest responsibilities because you screw up once with guns you can be banned for a period of time or you can be banned for life if you do something really horrible even if it was not on purpose. another big responsibility law is driving, if you get over the speed limit and you caught you can get fined
Freedom is defined by the dictionary as “the quality or state of being free”. The internet defines Freedom as “the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action”. However, it is really hard for us to feel truly free, because we live in a world, in which we are slaves of the same daily routine and we don’t dedicate time to do things we enjoy and we consider rewarding. We work, we go to school, we buy food, we go to sleep etc. and we get trapped in the same routine. Under these circumstances, it is very hard to enjoy and feel free most of the hours in a week. Sometimes the society in which we live we cannot achieve being free human beings because we spend the day doing things that many times we don’t want to be doing. Even going to college do not guarantee that we are going to live completely free. As a matter of fact, millions of people go to college and then realize that they don’t want to pursue their career and start looking for jobs in other fields to feel “truly free”. Malcolm X, one of the most powerful leaders of the Black America during the 1960s, found freedom while he was in jail, and show us the lesson of finding our own freedom spending our time wisely.
On the reservation John believed that his individuality is what made people hate him, it is also what made him dislike himself. It is only upon going to the new world that he realizes that his uniqueness is a beautiful thing and he realizes that a world devoid of individuality is devoid of humanity and not one that he wants to live in, it took John leaving the reservation to learn this valuable lesson. Had John not left the reservation he never would have known what it was like to have a relationship with anyone other than his mother, he would have never known what it was like to feel wanted by a group of people and he never would have learned to appreciate and love what makes him different. Although it lead to his eventual suicide, John’s differences from the people of the World State taught him that his uniqueness was a good thing and had he never experienced exile, he never would have learned to accept himself.
