Predominantly, reading can be very exasperating, especially on a long, difficult and humdrum writing. Obviously, I am not an exceptional case. However, outrageously my subconscious is always telling me that reading is very amusing. I come from a unique family; my father is a typical Asian-Chinese from Malaysia while my mother’s origin of Chinese and Portuguese ancestry. Apparently, my parents have the extremely different living habits because of their cultures. Example: My mother is preferred to say a prayer before dinner. While my father and his family will just tuck in on the dinner table. Despite the difference of their cultures, I am glad that they have the same goal on nurturing me. This is a rare case, my parents taught me about their beliefs at my age of three. “Nothing is impossible; you just have to do your best instead of trying! You are little giant of yourself! And you have to work-hard in order to succeed!” These are

Throughout the Civil War, Lincoln’s political strategies aided the Union victory. Lincoln set the Reconstruction of America into motion, and abolished slavery. In what follows, I will be discussing the life of one of the nation’s greatest presidents. Before his famous political career, Lincoln was a self educated lawyer. In debates across his life, he opposed slavery. During his time in Congress and in the Senate, Lincoln passed many laws, some that locally abolished slavery before the Civil War.
After the surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865 Lee’s military career ended and thus his civilian life began when he returned to his family on April 15. Whatever happened, he had no desire to leave Virginia. "I cannot desert my native state in the hour of her adversity," he remarked to a friend. Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States of America, was, some say, the greatest president so far in the history of the United States of America. Lincoln has truly made a huge impact in the daily life of all the citizens even today. Now, I will talk about his childhood, his life before he was president, his life during presidency, and what impact he has had on the life now.
Theodore Roosevelt differed from the other presidents of his time. Unlike other presidents who grew up in log cabins, Roosevelt was born in New York to a wealthy family. While he didn’t have financial struggles growing up, he did have severe health problems that impaired him in many ways. He was a sickly child with debilitating asthma that prevented him from going to school and socializing with other children his age. He was homeschooled by private tutors, which helped shape him into the independent, assertive adult he was. His bronchial asthma caused many sleepless nights and no remedies gave him a break. His parents tried to help and made him inhale the suffocating fumes of Stramonium or boiling water with aromatics in the kettle. One

This reflection paper is based on the life history interview conducted on me and a 78-year-old woman who is soon going to celebrate her 79th birthday on Sep 21st. I would call her with a fictitious name “Smita” in the entire paper to maintain and protect her privacy. The interview was about our life. It was divided into six major life categories: childhood, adulthood, identity, the present, aging, and life lessons. Having an opportunity to interview a 78-year-old woman and writing this reflective paper about the life history and experiences had made me realize that I have a lot to learn about the stages of human life. Every individual lives are different and it varies tremendously. As an interviewee my goal was to collect the details of life, different stories, and experiences that makes our life unique from the rest of the people.
When I get out of high school I want my career to be a farmer. The roots of farming began in the areas of present day turkey in the middle east about 10,000 years ago. There is about 570 million farmers worldwide. More than 90 percent of farms are run by an individual or a family and rely primarily on family labour. Family farms occupy a large share of the world’s agricultural land and produce about 80 percent of the world’s food. I have been working with a farmer for half a year now and I love it. I have seen and learned what I need to know and what I need to have to run a farm. It’s going to be a lot of working and learning to save up money and to learn what I need to know to have and run a farm.

With all the computer hacking Mat executed in Overdrive I could not help but think about the television show, Person of Interest. While much of the book is about cars, if you focus on the finer details of the story you can see how everything the teenagers managed to pull off was due to the help of computers. Without Mat shutting off security cameras and alarm systems, the mission would be a total bust.
Narrative is an integral aspect of an effective historical composition. An effective narrative can provide important sensory details that analysis may omit. David Hackett Fischer conveys, “To reconstruct a series of happenings, the best and only instrument is narrative.” Even so, many historians still struggle with the agency of narrative in scholarly works. Similar sentiments are paid to the genre of biography in a historical context. Biography is equally controversial, as many historians have dissenting opinions regarding its usage as well as its formal definition.
