Orthodontist The purpose of this page is to talk or explain what an orthodontist is and talk about description about an orthodontist. Some of the responsibilities of an orthodontist is to straighten the teeth of their patient as well as correcting their over bites. They examine, diagnose, and treat dental malocclusions and oral cavity anomalies. The primary job for an orthodontist is to straighten the teeth and to guarantee the patient’s facial properly grows. They help everyone to speak, bite and as well as to chew easily by getting your jaw, teeth and facial muscles by working well together. A student who knows that they want to become an orthodontist or pondering it as a career. The student should start preparing by taking science courses such as anatomy, chemistry and biology that will help to advance your studies in or during your college years. Even with a bachelor’s degree and many science courses admission to dental school in not assure. Dental school takes 4-years to complete and the classes focus on oral health, dental practice competency, legal consideration, professional studies on ethics, and different types of dental practice. They also do clinical practice which is an important part of the curriculum. After the student completes dental school, if the student decides to become an orthodontist they must enter into an orthodontic specialty program. The requirement of the training is a minimum of 2-years to complete and it may take a bit longer. The student work under direct supervision of a qualified orthodontist.
