When in a leadership role I don’t like to consider myself as a boss, but a mentor. I don’t want my employees to see me as a boss but as a guide for further learning and success. Today’s managers are not leaders, they are people in charge and nothing more. They don’t necessarily have the skills to lead, don’t get me wrong they may be a very good manager. However, they are only managing and not setting an example as a leader for the employees of an organization.
An organization has the greatest chance of being successful when all of the employees work toward achieving its goals. Since leadership involves the exercise of influence by one person over others, the quality of leadership exhibited by supervisors is a critical determinant of organizational success. Supervisors study leadership in order to influence the actions of employees toward the achievement of the goals of the organization.
Supervisors can learn about leadership through research. One of the reading assignments said leadership studies can be classified as trait, behavioral, contingency, and transformational. Earliest theories assumed that the primary source of leadership effectiveness lay in the personal traits of the leaders themselves. Yet, traits alone cannot explain leadership effectiveness. Later research focused on what the leader actually did when dealing with employees. These behavioral theories of leadership would explain the relationship between what the leaders did and how the employees reacted, bot...
There are many people that benefit from Lean Six Sigma which include mainly customers, suppliers, employees, and also stockholders. Lean Six Sigma is a way for businesses to improve, to reduce waste and to become more successful. In the future, more and more organizations will adopt or practice some of the Lean, Six Sigma, or both in order to stay competitive in today’s market. In some cases, blending both Lean and Six Sigma can be costly and difficult; however the end result can create an organization that focuses on quality, accuracy, and speed to meet the goal which is profitability.
1) Six Sigma should not be viewed as a quality program that is commissioned to reduce defects but as a methodology that helps companies better meet the needs of their business. KM shares this goal.
The method of Six Sigma mainly focuses on the variation reduction in the process that happen in any business, which helps to reach a higher customer satisfaction level. There are two main approach of six sigma that can be incorporated for this cause. They are DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve Control) and DMADV (Define Measure Analyze Design Verify) [3]. The author of this paper focus mainly on the DMADV approach to design a new dorm concept at the University of Miami, and this is intended to provide a new roadmap for conducting a design for six sigma project. Leadership has been defined in different ways, a definitaion of leadership that would be most commonly accepted would be “the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization…”(House et al., 1999, p. 184 as cited in Yukl, 2013, p. 19). After a comprehensive review of different leadership literature, Stogdill (1974, p. 259, as cited in Yukl, 2013, p. 18) concluded that “There are almost as many definitions of leadership as there are persons who have attempted to define the concept." Leadership can be viewed from two different angles one is shared influence process and other as a specialized role. Researcher who view leadership as a specialized role consider attributes as a factor in selecting a designated leader. On the contrast, theorist who emphasises on influence process considers “Leadership” as a social process or a pattern of relationship.
This semester along with participating in LTC over the summer I’ve learned leadership is more than being in charge. It’s about, “utilizing and developing skills to influence a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.” The goal is attained by mutual cooperation and cohesive behavior. A leader infuses a sense of positivity and directs others to reach the specified goal. An individual who stands not only for his cause but takes responsibility and motivates others also. There is a clear difference between being a boss and a leader. A leader is a motivator for others and inspires individuals to aim high and attain that aim. However a boss only supervises over his subordinates. Power naturally comes to a leader but that power is not a tool of leader. Rather if one tries to control the circumstances with power it turns out to be authoritarian or even suppressive in its expression.

In a firm, management and leadership are important and needed. Leadership and management are similar. Actually, leadership and management are totally different. The leadership would influence the firm. The leader would have difference leadership styles to lead the subordinate.
Presently many of us have learned that managers are primarily administrators who have learned to write business plans, utilize their resources and keep track of progress. We must learn that we are not limited by job title, and that means we can utilize our management skills in any position that we are in. We must also know that we can use our leadership skills in the same situations. On the other hand we have also learned that leaders are people who have an impact on those that surround them. The main difference that separates these two roles is that management is a function that must be utilized in any type of business, and leadership is the relationship that the leader has with his followers, which in turn can motivate and energize the organization.
Kairos time is a moment in which and new possibilities for change arrive, so that people can change the thought that only one group has the right way of living and believing. In time of Kairos if people decide to change the long term injustice, things will have momentum and attention to happen and end the chain and start a new chain reaction that is better and more inclusive. Liberation Theology understands, accepts, and appreciates Kairos time, that’s how it broke free from the chains of mainstream Christianity. Bartolome de Las Casas is a great example of this because when he realized that the encomienda system was the opposite of what God wanted he took that enlightenment moment and gave up the encomienda system, but he didn’t stop there he also wanted to make sure the no other so called Christians could keep treating the American Indians poorly anymore, so he preached his new beliefs to them and went to Spain to get regulations that would stop cruelty towards the American Indian workers. Liberation theology took the chance that appeared and created a new way of believing and living. Kairos time therefore shows another difference between mainstream Christianity and liberation theology. Mainstream Christianity doesn’t take the chance to change it wants to stay the same because in mainstream Christianity the followers believe that they are above and changing what they believe in risks them having to be equal
James Weldon Johnson’s poem, “The Creation,” is a poem from the Harlem Renaissance that portrays the events of Creation in a spirited manner. However, I disagree with Johnson’s portrayal of Creation and his view of being created in the image of God because it doesn’t reflect a true understanding of Genesis one through two, which was written by Moses and inspired by God. Johnson’s view has the potential to be misleading, and undermines God’s sovereignty. Johnson was not a Christian, and poetry of the Harlem Renaissance was often expressive, which could be why his poem doesn’t reflect Moses’ portrayal of Creation perfectly. If understood from a figurative perspective, the poem can be useful for those familiar with Creation in Genesis chapters

I hope that participating in the JET program will produce more opportunities to share with the world the beauty of Japan. Going out and meeting and conversing with the locals as an ambassador of the African American culture is key in my plans of full
We can divide the theories that deal with leadership in 3 chronological groups. First were the trait theories. Until the 1940's, research in the field of leadership was dominated by these theories. Second came the behavioral theories which were very influent until the late 1960's. Finally, contingency theories are the most modern theories about leadership.
Leadership, without doubt, is a significantly important function of management. It helps to aggrandize efficiency and to fulfil an organization’s goals. Leadership is the ability of a manager to induce the subordinates to work with confidence, determination, courage and zeal. It is also defined as ability to influence a group towards the realization of a goal. Leaders should have the capability of developing future visions, and to drive the organizational members to want to attain the visions. This paper states my points in which I duly believe, justifies the importance of an outstanding leader in any organization.
When most people think of an early childhood classroom they think of children roaming around and all around them toys, lots and lots of toys. (repetitive, and confusing to read) Many families may ask, “What is my child learning?” or “Don’t you do anything but play?” What these families don’t realize is that playing is a key factor in learning. In order to compromise with families that want more academia in early childhood classrooms, many teachers have begrudgingly introduced toys that include technology into their classrooms. In this essay, we will discuss the disadvantages and benefits of technology in the early childhood classroom.
