There are numerous of amazing women who have undoubtedly left their mark in our world. Women that have been able to voice their opinion and influence others. We live in a world where women are no longer seen as simple housewife that do not have the capability to work outside of their homes. Nowadays we can witness women working in every labor industry and who are constantly contributing in our society in different ways. Oprah Winfrey is one of those women who has contributed greatly to our society and is still contributing today. Lets take a deeper look at what she has done and what has made her into a fascinating woman. Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was born into a rural poverty family. Her name Oprah was obtained years ago due to the fact that her actual name was mispronounced in a regular basis. The actual name on her birth certificate is Orpah, which originates from a biblical figure in the book of Ruth. Her
She has given so much back to the community. In 2012 she gave away 400 million dollars to educational programs. Her generosity has made her into a very influential woman. By 2013 Winfrey donated 12 million to a museum called Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and Culture. She also created a charity in 1998, which provided grants to non-profit organizations and projects all around the world. Winfrey also established an organization to help develop leadership for girls. Winfrey has contributed so much of her time and own money to help others in need. She has inspired many women and others to follow their dreams and take the first step to success. Winfrey’s spirit to want to become more in life is what has made her very successful. The fact that she was persistent and did not give up regardless of her situation is what brought her to be who she is today. She is a woman full of integrity, honesty, and a desire to help
