Many men and women go out of their way to help the world and attempt to improve America. Lots of these people are icons and are well known for the things they’ve done, such as the following: Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Among these popular civilians, Oprah Winfrey has the same mindset, determination, and motivation to assuage those who struggle. Experiencing a rough childhood, the inspirational woman worked hard to get where she is today. Winfrey strengthens America’s society by donating to many charities, speaking out for the ones who can’t, and influencing the people through the media. She is a dedicated activist and philanthropist who has a mission and is working on it vigorously. One thing Winfrey does that helps America in many ways is donating to charities and supporting important movements. She donated to causes that support the following: Abuse, education, environment, poverty, human rights, and much more. Winfrey makes these donations through The Angel Network, The Oprah Winfrey Foundation, and The Oprah Winfrey Operating Foundation. Winfrey grew up with a rough childhood and since she can, she will help as many people as she can. She will speak out for what she believes in and she will do whatever it takes to improve the lives of others. Like Winfrey, many others can impact by helping the ones who need it. It could be something simple like helping the elderly neighbor across the street unload her groceries or donating a dollar a day to a charity. Winfrey shows how one can improve the world, but how much better could it be with millions
