Have you ever watched a movie and had your expectations blown away? Well, the movie Of Mice and Men is one of those movies. All the images, sound, music, the hook, and characters make the movie very interesting and it makes you want to watch more. Plus, the movie is suspenseful and you want to watch more once Of Mice and Men ends. The hook is one of the most essential pieces in a movie, Of Mice and Men nailed the hook. Right as Of Mice and Men starts the film draws us in with a phenomenal hook. Gary Sinise, director, made good decisions by making the hook mysterious and suspenseful. As an audience, we see a woman running from something. She has on a red dress and also has a worried and scared emotion on her face. There is a giant hole in her dress. She runs through a prairie and she is running fast, almost like there is something she is running from. We also get a glimpse of a man on a train. He has a depressed look on his face. He could be taken for crying. After these scenes we see two men running away from a group of people with guns and dogs. The lighting on that train makes people believe that he is going somewhere and at a very high speed. Once Lennie and George arrive at the ranch we see a view of the ranch. As an audience, we get to see what the ranch looks like and we have a better understanding of the movie. While everybody was working on the ranch, the camera keeps on zooming and and out. One thing that is in all of the images is the threshing machine. The audience can then assume this will be used later on in the movie. Later in the movie, Lennie and Curley get into a fight. The two men get physical and Lennie crushes Curley's hand. Slim tell Curley to tell anybody who asks about his hand that his hand was caught in the thrashing machine.
