Nursing Nurses play an important role in the health industry. Without nurses, many things would not be able to happen. Not only do nurses save lives, but they are there to listen to you and help you in any way possible. So, any time you see a nurse you need to thank them for all the hard work they put into their job and the amount of stress and nerves they get while doing it ("Registered Nurses", 2015). In the nursing field, there are many different types of nurses, but my favorite is the Registered Nurse (RN). On average the salary per year as a Registered Nurse is $66,640 and per hour is $32.04. In order to become a Registered Nurse you usually take one of three education paths: a bachelor’s degree in nursing, an associate’s degree in …show more content…
When it comes to nursing home care there are many advantages. One of those advantages are how small a nursing home facility is, with it being so small it is easier to get to know the individuals. Along with this, it is easier to get ahold of people when you are having problems, rather than a hospital has so many more patients that they have to deal with. Another great advantage is the fact that a nursing home you get more one-on-one with the therapist. They also focus on engaging the residents with each other with activities. Lastly, a nursing home has a care team that will give the resident direct care with everything. As these are some of the great advantages, a nursing home also has disadvantages. A disadvantage of a nursing home is that one nurse takes care of all the patients. So, if more than one thing critical was to happen it takes more time to get to all of them rather than a hospital there is more than one nurse, so they would get care ride away. Also, in a nursing home, there is only 2-3 doctors. So, with that, he/she has to take care of many patients and it makes it hard to ask questions as a patient. One of the biggest disadvantages at a nursing home is the fact that there are no machines that monitor the patient’s vital signs, so you can not automatically tell when something goes wrong. The last disadvantage for a nursing home is that the nursing staff is not all …show more content…
The three that I consider the most enjoyable are the pediatric nurse, trauma nurse, and orthopedic nurse. A pediatric nurse provides care to children, adolescents, and their families in various settings. They respond to the physical and psychosocial aspects of their health and illness. Pediatric nurses also, help prevent disease, manage physical and mental disabilities, and respond to acute and chronic illness. A pediatric nurse can diagnose many things including acute and chronic problems such as upper and lower respiratory infections; ear, nose, and throat infections; asthma; growth and development problems. One great thing about a pediatric nurse is they have many practice roles including staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, case manager, supervisor, and nurse manager. Some great characteristics you need to be a great, fun pediatric nurse are having direct patient care and relationships, autonomy and independent functioning, teaching, making a difference, and teamwork. When working on the pediatric floor you will deal with patients from newborn to adolescence. As there are many great things about being a pediatric nurse there are also a few drawbacks including lack of patient cooperation, patient grief, paperwork and policies, bureaucracy, stress, ethical conflicts, and pressure. Some great skills that will help you along the way are people skills, empathy, love of children,

Pros and Cons are I would have to bathe the patients which would be little gross to me but i would have to do it. I would also have to help change the patients to and i would have to change their beds and there diapers if you don't know how to go to the bathroom on themselves. I would get to spend time with old people which would be amazing because I love old people. The sad thing is i would have to make sure i don't get to emotional when they pass away which would be super hard and super sad. I am interested in this because my aunt does stuff like this and i want to do it
Working as a nurse can help you gain bonding skills, while working together to save an individual's life or to cure a disease. Also, all nurses know what they have to deal with, therefore it'll be just as much as a challenge for anyone as much as it would be for everyone else. Hospitals are not the only place that nurses take care of patients, they also work in schools, law firms, and insurance companies. Some nurses like to work full time, but part time or on call is always an option (Jennifer Wright). The only bad things that I nurse has to look out for is being exposed to all different types of germs and viruses. Nurses also have to deal with a lot of blood, so this is not your average clean job. Another bad thing is that the job can be kind of stressful because some days they are short on staff or gain a lot more patients. Another con about being in the nursing field is that a nurse will come face to face with a rude patient, they could be rude for whatever reason stretching from family issues, not wanting to be in the hospital, or just not wanting any assistance. Regardless of how rude a patient is, it is important that a nurse gives off a positive and polite vibe (Becoming a

Also nurses serve as role models because they are looked up to by many people and they also inspire others to give back to the community in their own way. Nurses also help educate you by giving you information about medicine or even information on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many people confuse nursing homes with assisted living facilities, but there are several important differences between them. There is a very thin border, which separates the nursing homes from the assisted living facilities. The primary purpose of both of them is to provide medical care and assistance to the residents. However, there is a difference in the level of care provided in each of them, their eligibility criteria, privacy provided, their cost of living, amenities, social activities, and the coverage by the insurance.
