This book is about a twelve-year-old boy named Nick Hall. Nick Hall loves to play soccer, but he can only play if he reads his dad’s dictionary which he thinks is boring. Nick Hall has a best friend Coby Lee. Coby and Nick have been friends almost their whole life, they also have always been on the same soccer team accept this year. I really liked the book because I can relate to how Nick can feel. The author’s writing style was really good for me because it makes the book feel like it goes by fast and I like books that feel like they go by fast. The characterization was really good it gave an explanation of who the characters are and how they act. The theme of the book doesn’t camouflage your feelings. The conflict is between Nick and his feelings because ever since his parent’s divorce he doesn’t know how to feel to situations that happen in the book. The beginning plot of the story is when the parents get a divorce. The middle plot of the story is when Nick’s appendix burst and Nick’s mom comes from Kentucky to check in on him, and later Nick’s parents announce that they’re getting back together. The ending plot is when Nick gets in a fight with Dean and Don twins that have bullying Nick and Coby for a while although Nick loses he scared Dean and Don away and he got his bike back that they stole from him. This book is filled with many different stories from many different characters, such as Angel, Alma, and Alex. Angel is the smallest kid in his family, and he has a big brother named Weasel. Weasel always plays tricks on Angel, and Angel hates it. One day while Angel was taking a shower Weasel came out of nowhere and took a picture of Angel in the shower, at least Angel covered his body with the shower curtains. Weasel threated Angel to give him 20 dollars or else he’ll show the picture to every girl in Angel’s school Angel was really worried. Angel tried to get the photo away from him but there was no chance, but finally he came up with an idea. This story caused a lot of emotions in me. I felt sad about how Giuseppe is kidnapped and taken away from his family. I also felt unhappy about how Hannah has to quit the things she loves because she had to work to get money for the family. I felt depressed how both of Fredrick’s parents died when he was young. After Stephano got shot I was really cheerful. When everyone solved each others problems, I felt happy for them. Finally characters in the story seem believable. I could relate to them because care about my family a lot. I especially like Yakov because he got to kill the bad guy. I would recommend this book to students that like books that have struggle, friendship, and care. It was one of the best books I have ever read

The most important plot point of Chapter 1 is Nick viewing the marriage between Daisy and Tom. First, it shows us the personalities of Tom, an aggressive, short tempered womanizer who ignores his daughter and 'accidentally' bruises his wife, and Daisy, a passive wife who is angry at her husband not only for having a mistress, but that the subject of his affair is so tactless as to call Tom in his home. Besides this, it also gives a brief glimpse of Daisy's outlook when she states her wish that her daughter grow to be a 'beautiful little fool' so that she won't know any better of her mother or father.
I learned a lot from this book I learned not to get in gangs and stay true to your family. I liked a quote in this story it said “things are rough all over” to me that meant no matter where you are where you go things are going to be rough so just stop running away from problems because it’s just going to create more. Dally and Sodapop both kind of remind me of myself because I don’t care about nothing but I can understand people and the different things they like and nothing don’t scare me. I think the theme of this story is to be your brothers keeper.
This book has great balances of love interests, actions, and internal conflict with characters. It has an interesting story so far with new pieces coming up every few chapters that are very important. Like Al attacking Tris, Eric talking about Divergents and how the rebels must be eliminated. Tris and Four are developing feelings for each other, which I find weird because he is basically her teacher. They are only two years apart, so the relationship is not that awkward. In this journal I will be predicting, evaluating, and questioning.
This book is about a boy and his family, he writes in his journal every day. He doesn’t say anything about his name or what he looks like, all we know about him is people call him Happy Face. He tells us about his family and what they're like and a little bit about them. He has a mom dad and an older brother, his dad's quiet and he likes to write a lot, he drinks a lot. When he writes he drinks because he says it helps him with his writing. His dad’s very intelligent and has even had books published. Happy Face’s mom is loud, crazy, and he thinks she is insane at some points. He thinks that she was considered popular when she was in high school. The narrator of The Great Gatsby is a man from America named Nick Caraway. He not only narrates the story but portrays himself as the book’s author. Whilst we as the reader make our way through the passage, it is effortless to forget the important fact that The Great Gatsby is first of all a book about a man writing a book; therefore we are not observering this scene first hand, although it seems on the surface as if we are; Nick Caraway is merley recreating events for us, filtering them through his own sense of connotation, and filling them with his own perception.

This book starts in the pre-revolutionary time. At the beginning of the book, Johnny Tremain, is working as an apprentice to Mr. Lapham. Mr. Lapham is a blacksmith. Johnny’s parents died in a fire several years before, and this is why he lived with the Laphams. He worked there with enthusiasm for several years until he hurt his arm, scolding it in hot metal. After the accident, Mr. Lapham told Johnny that he needs to find a different profession, but he can stay with the laphams.

The first theme I chose to focus on was freedom. I chose this simply because of the fact that he uses this word repeatedly throughout his book. I thought this was a great theme because he constantly talks about how you cannot and should not let yourself get bogged down worrying about what other people think about you or how other people perceive you. Nick believes that you are in control of you and only you, and if other people do not accept you for who you are, then that is on them and that is their problem. Nick says that people must stop trying to live up to everyone else’s expectations. He also says that we have to stop these negative attitudes, despite what our circumstances are, and we have to stop the nonsense of thinking we are not “good enough.” I chose the image of a person who has different paths in front of them to choose from. I chose this to depict that everyone always has options no matter what their circumstances are. Everyone has a choice of how they will live, as well as what their attitude and outlook on life will be. Nick learns th...
