Neil Postman's Argument Analysis

In this paper I will be discussing the context of Neil Postman's comments along with illustrating arguments with examples from the course of why his context applies to our course. My three arguments from the course will be based on privacy and computer security which will talk about hackers, social implications of computers which will talk about computers in education , and lastly Computers in Social Network which also fall under social implication of computers. In my paper I will be agreeing with Neil Postman's context about computer technologies. Neil Postman, an American cultural critic who was a speaker at the IBM sponsored meeting expressed his comments about technology. In other words there are going to be a good amount of positive factors along with it's shares of negative factors as well. Neil Postman also critiques how experts always talk about the advantages computers bring, but they never talk about issues or disadvantages computer technology brings to us. For example when advertising a new products like phones or computers they never talk about issues like the expense of the device, the size of the device which may be uncomfortable or how fast the product is. From this we could see that there are equal points each side brings to the table, whether it's a advantage point or disadvantage. Analyzing course material covered this year along with articles will help my argument toward the disadvantage factors computer technologies create.
