I’m sure that we all agree that poor schedule management interferes with our daily performance. I notice that many of you have a background’s in sports, so I will be talking about how the NBA schedule is created. The NBA stands for (National Basketball Association) Because of my inside with the Chicago Bulls, I heard many of the players complained about the travel schedule and the way it impacts their performance. According to the official NBA site, the schedule format is done in a specific algorithm based on the amount of games played, court availability with broadcasting and official breaks that comes with other conflicts There are a total of 30 NBA teams. These points are calculates and helps the team when it comes to long distance traveling and schedule conflicts. Each team is required to have 50 dates available for their home court that includes 4 Mondays for the ESPN broadcasting and 4 Thursdays for TNT broadcasting. This is a photo of the Golden State Warriors distance traveled last seasons. They traveled 72,032 thousand miles and to put this in perspective, the distance across the united state is 2,802 thousand mile. That means they traveled 26 times across the US. Because of this huge market, there are many conflicts when it comes with scheduling. Lets take the United Center for example: It is home to the Bulls, Blackhawks, Circus, Concerts, and many other large venues. Because we live is such a big city, it can be very challenging to schedule all the events according to every ones preference. Here is a short video on how the United Center switches form one venue to another. As I have mentioned to you, there are many components that goes into making the NBA schedule. The format is done in a specific algorithm based on the amount of games played, and by having the arena available for consecutive dates, teams will get extra points that can be applied when there are conflicts and long distance traveling. I hope we realize the importance of the schedule when it comes to the performance of these professional

Basketball was created and has been played since December 1891 (Griffiths, 2010), it is a game of skill and talent that is enjoyed by fans all over the world. There are numerous leagues, but the two main leagues are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). The NCAA is considered amateur where the players are not paid, and the NBA is considered professional where players make millions of dollars. In order for the NBA to get their players they draft from the NCAA, but the rules have changed several times over the years that have permitted players to enter the NBA. The current rule states that NBA players must be one year removed from high school or 19 years of age (Article X, 2008), this rule is considered by many needing the most change.
Backstory of Basketball Basketball has been played since 1891, and still continues to be played today as well. Basketball is an intriguing game played by 2 teams with 5 players from each team on the court at the same time. Basketball, as it started out in 1891 had no African American athletes in the sport. That was still going on, even as late as the 1950’s.

To start with, there is an argument as to whether or not coaches of school sports teams should offer equal playing time to all of their players. According to Alan Goldberg, every athlete wants playing time, but not every athlete can always get it. In other words, only the athletes that put in the effort can have playing time because that shows that they really want playing time. The athlete can not only put in the hard work but he/she needs to be skilled at that sport. Coaches of school teams should not offer equal playing time to the players because teams play to win so they will put their best players in, players who are skilled and put in the effort will make the starting lineup, and the athletes are paying for practice not playing time.
First, the industry is organized by the NBA to have 30 equally balanced competitors. So, the distribution of capacity across teams must be relatively equivalent in order to maintain game suspense and thus it attract fans. The NBA endorses competitive balance with different measures such as reverse-order draft choices, salary caps, revenue sharing and etc.

The NFL pre-season consists of four games in four weeks. Primarily, the pre-season is for the rookies who were most recently drafted to showcase their talent and make a name for themselves. The regular season consists of sixteen games in seventeen weeks. There are seventeen weeks because each team in the NFL is given a bye week. A bye week is like a break week to rest players.
