This essay will explore the role Nazi scientists and doctors played in the labeling of Jews as “different” during the Holocaust. Some of Germany’s most renowned medically trained professionals and biomedical research institutions engaged in forms of research using slave labor, dissection, extermination, euthanasia programs, sterilizations which pushed the boundaries of moral behehavior and medicine to prove Jews are inferior human beings to Germans. Approximately six million Jews died during the Holocaust. Hitler’s master plan to cleanse
Germany of Jews was not just performed by policemen and Germany military, but also was in the deadly hands of physicians who controlled the life and death of prisoners. One such infamous PhD professor from Munich, Josef Mengele, was known as the “Angel of Death”.
Mengele’s “medical experiments” performed at Auschwitz were cruel beyond belief. (1)
During the Holocaust there were different types of concentration camps where innocent Jews went to suffer and die. There were death camps, huge prisons and killing centers. During the Holocaust, the most famous concentration camp was located at Auschwitz. Systemic gassing of Jews began at Auschwitz in March of 1942. (2) It is unimaginable to the human mind that these death camps existed. Not only did they exist and operate like well-oiled machines, the amount of concentration camps is mind numbing which shows the determination of Germany’s destruction of Jews. The variety of camps which included: labor, death, cold experiments, and work related, to name a few, totaled 10,005. “There were 52 main concentration camps, which had a total of 1,202 satellite camps. Auschwitz, by itself, with its 50 satellite camps, had 7,000 guards among...

Unlike most SS doctors, Mengele was a true ideologue: a man who understood his life
to be in the service of a larger vision. He undoubtedly viewed himself as a Nazi revolutionary,
a man committed to the bold task of remaking his people and ultimately the people of the world.
Mengele exemplified the Nazi biological revolutionary.
For many survivors, Mengele had to come to represent Auschwitz evil that meaning in
Their lives could be restored only by his capture and trial. The way one prisoner doctor put it, “
would like to live to see this trial and then I could die”. **
In Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli tells the story of his time in Auschwitz. Dr. Nyiszli is a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp located in Poland. His story provides the world with a description of the horrors that had taken place in camp in 1944. Separated from his wife and daughter, Dr. Nyiszli volunteered to work under the supervision of the head doctor in the concentration camp, Josef Mengele. It was under Dr. Mengele’s supervision that Dr. Nyiszli was exposed to the extermination of innocent people and other atrocities committed by the SS.
Dr. Nyiszli was a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp survivor which was located in Poland. Reading his story provided me and the rest of the world with a description of the horrors that took place in the concentration camp in 1944. Being separated from his wife and daughter, Dr. Nyiszli volunteered to work under the supervision of the head doctor at the concentration camp which was Josef Mengele. Being a Jew and a medical doctor, he was spared death to do worst then a death, to perform scientific research on his fellow inmates with the infamous “Angel of Death”- Dr. Josef Mengele. Dr. Nyiszli was named Mengele’s personal research pathologist. In that capacity he also served as physician to the Sonderkommando, the Jewish prisoners who worked exclusively in the crematoriums and were routinely executed after four months. There were several thoughts that ran my mind after reading Dr.
... Hans Munch made false reports to save the lives of many Jews and help their diseases. Dr. Mengele did just the opposite. His famed experiments and treatments are still talked about today. The holocaust was a devastating event that killed millions of innocent Jews; and the doctors that were responsible for treating them many times only used them for their own experiments and medical projects.
Have you ever wondered if there was someone even more evil than Hitler? Let me introduce you to Josef Mengele. He was one of the cruelest and hellacious doctors during World War 2. Most commonly known for his vicious experiments with twins, he was given the name “the angel of death”.
...cted many horrifying experiments on innocent people. Doctors are to help and heal patients, not hurt and destroy them. Doctors are expected to save lives, not take them. These doctors used their positions to aid the progress of the Nazi ideals as well as the success of the German military. Despite the terrible crimes the doctors committed, they believed that they were doing good. They were helping to achieve a supreme race as well as a productive, healthy military. They were later punished for their crimes. Unfortunately only a few could be found, and put on trial. Others went on with their life, enjoying what they had deprived so many others of. Some even continued their profession of being family doctors all around Germany, and many still have the same Anti-Semitic views they had before when they were professional killers. Epstein shows the process that the majority of Jews were being put through, such as the medical examinations, medical experimentations, gas chambers and crematoriums. Medical examinations were used to determine if the Jews were healthy enough to work. Dr. Mengele used the Jews as “lab rats” and performed many experiments such as a myriad of drug testing and different surgeries. The gas chamber was a room where Jews were poisoned to death with a preparation of prussic acid, called Cyclo...
“A typical concentration camp consisted of barracks that were secured from escape by barbed wire, watchtowers and guards. The inmates usually lived in overcrowded barracks and slept in bunk “beds”. In the forced labour camps, for
After World War II the world began to here accounts of the atrocities and crimes committed by the Nazi’s to the Jews and other enemies of the Nazis. The international community wanted answers and called for the persecution of the criminals that participated in the murder of millions throughout Europe. The SS was responsible for playing a leading role in the Holocaust for the involvement in the death of millions of innocent lives. Throughout, Europe concentration camps were established to detain Jews, political prisoners, POW’s and enemies of the Third Reich. The largest camp during World War II was Auschwitz under the command of SS Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Hoess; Auschwitz emerged as the site for the largest mass murder in the history of the world. In 1930, young, teenage Mengele completed high school and left his home to study medicine at Munich University in Germany. Adolf Hitler was stirring up the Bavarian people at this time with his “anti-Jewish” ideas. He attracted large crowds, who gather...

An idea to hide evidence of the mistreatment of Jews, Jews were sent to death camps such as Auschwitz for mass extermination by lethal gas and/or to be medically tested on for ‘scientific’ purposes. It has been shown that those gruesome tests have in fact contributed to some of the greatest medical break throughs in modern times.
This paper examines some issues regarding concentration camp and ghetto prisoners who were considered more “privileged” than other Jews. Brown discusses how they were allotted more food or were required to do less physically demanding work, for example, as payment for performing duties assigned by the Nazis that required them to inflict harm on themselves or other prisoners. He uses the example of Gisella Perl, a prison doctor who helped Josef Mengele perform experiments at Auschwitz-Birkenau to further illustrate his point.
According to the Adolf Hitler which most of us may have herded the name or read about him, the Jewish were the very inferior race that they felt was an alien threat to the German racial purity and community. All this happened during the Nazi rule in Germany. Humanity lost meaning during this time in Germany, the solution to eliminate the inferior race according to Adolf Hitler was to remove them. The only effect many people are aware of is the deaths of many Jewish despite having several effects associated with this activity. However, in this essay, we are going to research on the effects of Holocaust on the victims. This will help us answer the questions about the aftermath of the
