Dr. Nyiszli was a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp survivor which was located in Poland. Reading his story provided me and the rest of the world with a description of the horrors that took place in the concentration camp in 1944. Being separated from his wife and daughter, Dr. Nyiszli volunteered to work under the supervision of the head doctor at the concentration camp which was Josef Mengele. Being a Jew and a medical doctor, he was spared death to do worst then a death, to perform scientific research on his fellow inmates with the infamous “Angel of Death”- Dr. Josef Mengele. Dr. Nyiszli was named Mengele’s personal research pathologist. In that capacity he also served as physician to the Sonderkommando, the Jewish prisoners who worked exclusively in the crematoriums and were routinely executed after four months. There were several thoughts that ran my mind after reading Dr.

Born on December 31, 1908, Simon Wiesenthal lived in Buczacz, Germany which is now known as the Lvov Oblast section of the Ukraine. The Nazi Hunter came from a small Jewish family who suffered horrifically during the Holocaust (The Simon Wiesenthal Center). Wiesenthal spent a great amount of time trying to survive in the harsh conditions while in internment camps and after escaping the last camp he attended. Wiesenthal spent weeks traveling through the wilderness until he was eventually captured by the Allies, still wondering the entire time if his wife was even alive (The Simon Wiesenthal Center). Of the 3000 prisoners in the camp Wiesenthal escaped from, only 1200 survived and Wiesenthal was one of them (Holocaust Research Project).
... Hans Munch made false reports to save the lives of many Jews and help their diseases. Dr. Mengele did just the opposite. His famed experiments and treatments are still talked about today. The holocaust was a devastating event that killed millions of innocent Jews; and the doctors that were responsible for treating them many times only used them for their own experiments and medical projects.
“I am obsessed with silence because of the silence of the world. I do not understand why the world was silent when we needed its outcry. I always come back to that problem. Where were the humanists, the leaders, the liberals, the spokesmen for mankind? The victims needed them. If they had spoken up, the slaughtered would not have succeeded in his task.” - Elie Wiesel
Over 3,000 twin children were killed by Josef Mengele. A Holocaust twin survivor shares their accounts during the Holocaust. She says”my brother had multiple experiments, ranging from amputations to body part transplants.” She never saw her brother every again after these tragic. Such cruelty is unimaginable in some peoples eyes. This was not to Josef Mengele, these events can truly express who Dr. Mengele was as a person. These tragic occurrences come in a wide range of danger whether its from body experiments to biomedical testing. While Josef Mengele participated in the Nazi Genocide, one can see the tragic events that he created.
January 30th, 1933 was the day thousands of lives were affected greatly. Adolf Hitler began as the Chancellor of Germany. Hitler and his newly founded army, were always viewed as the true killers of the innocent Jews. Many did not notice the people who actually did a great deal of the killing, the doctors that is. There were a number of doctors from the Holocaust that are known for horrific killing but one stands out above the rest. Dr. Josef Mengele is the one that most people know about. He is the one that is known for his antics in the killing of Jews. He can’t be compared to the others because what he did was like no other.
Furthermore, the speaker gives insight on Mengele’s background information to express the idea on why Mengele was evil. Mengele was scientist that that did inhuman experiments on the Jews during the Holocaust for the research of his interest. Mengele was living in the environment of the Nazis and he was continuously influenced by Nazi . To further tell, from living in the Nazi community, his decision was altered because of how society was. Furthermore, he didn’t believe that killing Jews for his experiments was a bad or an evil thing because he was exposed to the massacre of Jew by the Nazi’s hands.
When first getting to the concentration camp of Auschwitz, the most popular one of them all, Mengele would be given a role in the selection process where people entering the camps were picked based on their physical appearance if they could work or should be gassed and killed. Mengele’s role in this was to look for the perfect test subjects for his experiments. These subjects were then taken somewhere else and the rest, who were not chosen, were actually saved from the torture that these people received. Although they were not tortured by Nazis, they were definitely tortured by Mengele in the form of experiments, which is actually thought of as worse than torture. Menge...

Dr.Mengele was a Nazi doctor and scientist that did many studies on the twins of the camps; he essentially used Auschwitz as his own personal laboratory. Twins in the camp were his prime victims, one was used as the control and the other was used for testing and experimental factors. Many of these twins were murdered during or after the experiments. Mengele would perform extreme surgeries without any anesthetic. Other experiments ranged from lethal injections, chemical testing, castration, pressure chambers and exposure to other extreme traumas (“Angel of Death”). Eva Mozes Kor and her twin Miriam Mozes were survivors of Dr.Mengele’s experiments. Eva explains how she and her sister were discovered by Mengele in the camps.
Ordinary men have the capacity to commit extraordinary crimes and on April 11, 1961, Adolf Eichmann an ordinary looking man faced trial for the murder of five million Jews. Adolf Eichmann served in the Nazi party as their expert on Jewish matters. During the Nuremberg trials that took place years before Eichmann’s trial, many witnesses testified to the control Eichmann had over the implementation of the final solution. SS Captain Wisliceny worked under Eichmann in Hungary in 1944 and he proclaimed that Eichmann said, “he would jump into his grave laughing, because of the feeling that he had five million people on his conscience, gave him extraordinary satisfaction’” (48). Also, Eichmann worked with the members of Jewish councils, and they claimed in earlier trials that he had a direct hand in the “Jewish Question” (49). With a heavy list of witness accounts and facts to proof that Eichmann committed the crimes, he did not face his day in court till many years later and that appeared to be fine with most
Josef Mengele wasn't always a bad guy. During his childhood Mengele grew up in a Catholic family with both parents and two brothers, he being the oldest of the three. Shortly after his birth in 1911 his father became sole owner of a foundry that made farm equipment in Germany. His family became wealthy as the business prospered and they became the most powerful family in their town. While young Mengele was growing up, his parents were frequently absent due to the family business. But he expressed his desire to stand out from other members of his family and become successful in his own way, not involving the family business. Josef was a very excellent student. His favorite subject was anthropology, the study of the origin, development, and behavior of humankind. He abandoned the Catholic Church when he was a teenager and became a member of a patriotic young people's group ( “Josef Mengele.” Student Resources in Context ).
== == Werner Lammpe was accused of sending numerous citizens to concentration camps where they were later killed. I feel that he was innocent because he did not have the mens rea to commit these crimes.
