Naturalistic observation is a research method used by scientists and psychologist to observe a subject in its natural habitat. Naturalistic observation allows the researcher to observe and accurately record he's research in the most natural way possible. This research method allows for no manipulation when observing a research. This kind of research method helps for hypothesis. The disadvantage is researcher is unable to know the cause of behavior on the subject. Another disadvantage is that the subject might act differently because it wants to leave a certain impact on the researcher. Naturalistic observation is best done in real life settings that might be difficult to consult and conclude in a lab. For example observing wild animals in their habitat. To me I believe it would be absolutely inhumane to capture wild animals, and put them in an artificial habitat which could influence the mood and …show more content…

There are certain principles one must follow when conducting a naturalistic research. One, you must collect all accounts of information through observing the subject, timing is important, so that must be recorded. Record all subjects at the exact interlude of time, exact recording of occurrence, gives you an idea of what might happen next with the subject. Take notes. Recording can be done with a camcorder for later analyzing the subject and making reports. Kruger Park is one of the best parks to observe animals in its natural habitat, my family and I visited there in the summer of 2012. It is located in the Northeastern part of South Africa. I observed lions and lionesses in their natural state from afar to prevent the risk of possibly getting mauled to death, and to prevent interruption in behavior.
