The movie Narco Cultura was about how the drug cartels, or “Narcos,” infuence people’s lives in Mexico, and also here in the US. The movie followed around criminal investigators, and singers El Komander and Buknas de Culiacan in order to see where their music comes from. Narcocorridos is very popular in Mexico, and even in the United States, but that type of music is based on the glorification of Narco culture. Even though they may not participate in the drug trafficking and violence like real Narcos, they do understand it, and even praise it. However, Narco culture is not something to be praised, and in Mexico it is a big issue that leads to thousands of deaths a year, only in Juarez, Mexico. The criminal investigators do their best to fight the Narcos, but they are too powerful, that it intimidates many officers, and some officers have even been killed. …show more content…

The movie also does a very good job at having a variety of “talking heads.” For a long time, the movie follows criminal investigators in order to show a piece of what they go through on a daily basis. They see death, violence, and drugs all the time, and they are just doing their best to prevent more from happening. Also, the movie follows one singer from Buknas de Culiacan to show how he gets his motivation for his Narcocorridos, and how his music has an affect on his fans. Because this information is shown in a movie format, it helps illustrate the gore in the murder, the pain in people’s voices, and faces, and it also helps show the kind of environment they live
