Netflix recounts the elevation of the cocaine trade in Colombia and the prehending authentic-life stories of drug kingpins of the tardy '80s in this raw, gritty pristine series. On August 28, 2015 the television show Narcos short for “narcotraficante” aired, directed by Chris Brancato. A dramatization depicting Pablo Escobar’s rise is status and power. Narcos shows in detail a closer look at the lifestyle of drug lords, which is a topic of morbid fascination since long before the show came to be. On top of this, the show emphasizes the war on drugs with the DEA targeting Escobar as such a prominent and notorious trafficker. A need to expand upon the inner workings of just about everything from technical application of objects to the intimate lives of well known people; particularly, infamous people. The need to label everything and everyone as a way of understanding and making sense of them, inspires a curiosity of what must have gone on to lead to the events that were so well known. The topics of anyone involved in illegal drugs will always be a hot button issue that can be exploited by media as a taboo subject of intrigue and conversation. There is perhaps even a linked fascination to the lavish and controversial lifestyle of a drug trafficker, like Pablo Escobar, that inspires that curiosity. The war on drugs is a constant, almost integral part of society as a whole. It involves everyone from everyday civilians to the military, law enforcement and Politicians that we entrust to govern our daily lives. Pablo Escobar actually maintained a seat of Congress while being on the Forbes Richest list. In the Steve Murphy emphasized on Pablo Escobar’s power over the Colombian government by saying, “In the United States, the Mafia makes witnesses disappear, so they can’t testify in court.
