As human beings, we struggle to discover who we are and what is our individual purpose in life. It seems impossible to know what our mission in life is without knowing our identity. Psychology tells us that we have a social identity as well as a personal identity. Our social identity involves our nationality, religion, gender, and social roles. Personal identity focuses on our abilities, skills, personal attributes, and personality. Personally, I can admit I got lost trying to discover both my social and personal identity. I later learned Erik Erikson would consider my identity crises to be part of the Identity vs. Role Confusion psychosocial stage.
Although I believe discovering and forming my identity is a never-ending process I now grasp an idea of who I am. I can confidently identify some of my personality traits and social roles. These personality traits are some of the traits that are commonly portrayed in my personality. I am sassy because I know my worth. I know that when I am bold when I share my passion with others and it brings me confidence. I am full of spirit and want to transfer my energy to others, just like Blossom. Blossom feels like she runs the world and the rest of the power puff girls when she defeats crimes in her city. Although I do not fight crime in my city I do feel like I take on the world when I successfully manage all my responsibilities. I am a leader just like blossom when it comes to providing others the tools to grow as a person, and by being next to them through their journey.
