My Personal Experience: My Experience To The University Writing Course

As a transfer student, I wasn’t super happy to learn that I had to take another English course, especially a specialized writing course. I came to the knowledge that I had to take the University Writing course, because it’s a requirement to graduate, therefore, I really didn’t have a choice. As I came into class the first day, my expectations left me and I was more in surprise. This course will teach me what I need to improve on and specific writing tasks I do particularly well on, and it will also get in touch with my creative side. Writing is going to challenge me, test my procrastination and teach me new ways to write; I am eager for this writing opportunity to progress further.

I expected cming into the course to have more writing homework and an assignment due every day, but I 'm thankful we do not have to stress about that. We have only had two major papers, a couple reading responses and answering some questions in our daybook. The visual representation essay was different and made me really think about myself. From the assignments vie handed in so far, its taught me I need to spend more time on them and proofread them. We have had in class discussions, and I do try to speak up and contribute at least one sentence. However, I need to grow and improve in this area, I want to be able to participate every class and speak up no matter the situation. I usually get intimated and my confidence isn’t great, so my student persona usually comes off as shy and not wanting to talk. The class did have a in class group discussion for the Imposter movie; I talked a sufficient amount amongst my group and discussed our assigned topic. Participation and speaking in class is a personal education goal I want to keep
