Ricky Martin once said, "Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity." A hero can be anyone in everyday life. "A hero does good for good, not for glory." A hero does not expect rewards for their actions; a hero does something because it is right. A hero perseveres when faced with adversity. No matter the physical and mental difficulties, a hero continues trying until their goal is reached. Heroism is acts of kindness, no matter how small, and no matter from whom it comes.

Wakida, is someone who is admired for their courage, kindness, and noble acts. A hero is not self-centered. A hero cares about others and thinks of others. Everyday heroes like policemen and firemen put their lives in danger everyday to protect and serve their community. If policemen thought about themselves first, there would be lawlessness in our country. A criminal with a gun could do and take anything, unless a policeman puts a victim's safety before their own. People would not be rescued from a fire, unless a firefighter risks their life to save another. A hero is not someone who expects a reward for their actions; they fight for what is right. Our military fights for our freedom and the safety of our country because they believe in our nation. As individuals, they may not have the same religious beliefs as people in another country, but our military will fight for human rights and to protect our freedoms. A hero does not stop trying until their goal is reached. In the poem "A Man", the soldier that lost his arm didn’t stop trying until he could do everything with twice as much enthusiasm.
