In life, is important to have values, moral and goals; which serve as motivation. Science is a big subject with many branches and purposes that inspire people to perform and obtain good results. The result and goals I aspire in the scientific world are to produce simple access and good quality to every person who need it. The way I plan to acquire it is by completing my objectives. One of my main objectives is to graduate with a Biology Degree and a Minor in Psychology; and after that pursued a higher education. This higher education would be a master, a PhD in Biochemistry and/or a career in the medical field as a Doctor. Once I have obtained one of these degrees, it would be easier to contribute in the health care of patients and in the …show more content…
Which have a great weight on making me more interesting in research, since we discuss and talking about their current research like drug delivery and the exploring of carotenoids. If it was not for the knowledge acquired on Organic Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry and other science class it would not be easy to understand what they are doing in their research and/or have a conversation. Also, by mentoring freshmen students in the lecture and laboratory class, I have become more eager about research and science topics. Even though I have experience mentoring freshmen students in the laboratory by explaining the main purpose of the experiment performed, help with techniques, gathering data and how to proceed with the experiments. There still other areas of my interests and techniques I would like to experienced and learn more about it by observing, talking to my mentor and fellow research members in the program. For this reason, I would be like to take part of the program to learn and explore more about research, science topics, and proper techniques to develop my own style and perform well on future research opportunities. Furthermore, being familiar with the program would give me a heads up on what is like to be in graduate school, what to expect and what higher level of studies is required from the students. Which is …show more content…
Hopefully, after and during, the participation in the SUMR program I can enhance my skills and abilities in and out of the laboratory ambient. With the participation, and unique experience, in the program I would like to start with a research project related to Biology, Psychology and Chemistry subject. For example, exploring carotenoids that are associated with health benefits, like the reduction of inflammatory disease and cancer. If everything goes either way, good or wrong, with my research project I would like to continue on looking for better ways of performing laboratory work like gathering data, better procedures and moving forward with other investigation of my interests. Another of my interest is the neuroscience and everything related to epileptic, since I have been watching and assisting in the care of my epileptic
Born and raised by parents working in the medical field, I have always had the urge to follow up on on a health related career. Despite never being pressured into choosing scientific subjects as my academic studies, I deeply admired what a long way science has come and longed to give my contribution to this fascinating world. I am presently studying for my A-levels at St.Aloysius Sixth form in Malta, a college for high achievers.
I have always wanted to be a scientist and contribute something to the human cause and what better way to achieve this than by doing medical research? Medical school taught me the art of medicine and the research projects that I undertook taught me the science of medicine. What interests me the most is a path that combines the two, and one way to make that possible is to be an academic physician. I have always wanted to work in a teaching hospital or academic institution, one that would give me the opportunity to take care of patients, give me the time and resources to carry out trials and present them and to be able to interact with trainees.
I believe I have great analytical skills and attention to every detail due to the sensitivity of the experiments we had to undertake in a laboratory. Looking after one’s health is very important as it helps us to stay away from diseases and live a happy life, which is why I personally worship my health. Therefore, I find it rather interesting to study about the diseases and it’s adverse effects on one’s health. In future, after completing my University, I have a strong desire to help the poor and illiterate people who don’t have access to the healthcare facilities. Since high school, science has always been a subject of interest to me.
While many students claim to be engrossed in the medical field, one being myself, ultimately, only a few students take action towards their interest at a young age and go ahead on to pursue the field. Therefore, students who are sincere about their interest have a tendency to portray interest in minor research experiments, being in a medical field regardless of any materialistic reward, and being able to experience the true work of someone of the medical field.
Seven years ago, when I decided to enter the school of medicine, my dream was to be able to help people, to take responsibility of their health so they can live their lives and achieve their dreams. Having always been fascinated by science, pursuing this interest and practicing medicine became a passion to me.
The desire to help people and make a difference in the society is what attracted me to the field of medicine. As a child I was always interested in science as a subject and participated in many National Level Science competitions. I volunteered for Urban Leprosy control program, which gave me an opportunity to interact with Leprosy patients and participate in activities aimed at educating people about the disease and disease prevention. It was during this time that I had a chance to closely observe the relationship between a doctor and the patient and I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of medicine.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
In the future, I wish to obtain an occupation in the medical field. I would like to start out by working for a Biology major and working in a premedical field in college where I can use my interest in medicine and my curiosity for knowledge to gain insight that would be needed to become a helpful doctor in the medical field. As I move along in my career, I would like to work my way through the pathway so that I can expand my skills in healing others, such as diagnostic abilities, effectively giving treatment and so on. I want to learn as much as possible so I can fulfill my ultimate dream of helping others that need answers to their medical problems and so that more people can live happily and healthily in the world. I hope to bring happiness to others and allowing people to live comfortably.
graduating from medical school, I hope to continue to be an active part in the research field. In fact, during the year
I have always loved science and math. Although I thoroughly enjoy biology, it is not my strongest subject. To conjure a greater understanding of biology I set some short term goals. I want to enroll in more science based classes in order to hone my skills . Because I wish to have a job that is a hybrid of engineering and medical principles, it is extremely salient that I enjoy a major in biomedical engineering and perhaps a minor in nano engineering. Another of my short term goals that is related to my early statement, is to take a five year route in my collegiate career. The reason is so that i may enter the employment field with a masters in biomedical engineering, thus putting me a step further than many other applicants. After settling down with my engineering occupation I will be able to work on my career and long term goals. I have a laundry list of career goals but I will only explore the ones with the most priority. My first two years of highschool I was
What is my personal purpose? Is a question that I have never thought to ask myself until recently. Then when I started learning more about a personal purpose I started wondering if I have one and what it was. I never thought of myself has having a real purpose until a watched an interview Will Smith had did and he had said “When your life means something to someone other than yourself than you have a purpose.” That is when I realized that I have a purpose. My purpose is that I am the hug that let others know it is going to be ok. My personal goals is to be genuinely happy with myself and life and to make my parents proud, my career goal is to own my own business and being successful at doing so, finally, my educational goal is to get my bachelors degree and grauate with honors and even moving on to getting my masters. Having goals is important to me because I know that while I am in the process of accomplishing them I will have something great to look forward to in the end.
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
I have three specific goals that I intend to reach, which are to graduate high school, graduate college, and be successful in my career after college. To start, I plan to graduate high school. Although I am very near to attaining this goal, as I am in my last year of high school, it is an extremely important goal to me. In order to achieve this goal, I, as I have done throughout my time as a student, plan to study hard and strive to succeed in the classroom.
Throughout my life, I have worked towards one goal which is to become a doctor. Medicine offers the opportunity for me to integrate different scopes of science while trying to improve human life. Medicine has intrigued me throughout all my life because it??s a never ending mystery and every answer has questions, and vice versa. Upon entering my career, I had assumed that professional and financial success would surely bring personal fulfillment. This realization triggered a process of self-searching that led me to medicine. The commitment to provide others with healthcare is a serious decision for anyone. As I examined my interests and goals, however, I underwent a process of personal growth that has propelled me towards a career as a physician. A career in medicine will allow me to integrate thoroughly my passion for science into a public-service framework. Since childhood, I have loved acquiring scientific knowledge, particularly involving biological processes. During my undergraduate studies, I displayed my ability to juggle competing demands while still maintaining my academic focus; I have succeeded at school while volunteering part time, spending time with family and friends, and working part-time. To better serve my expected patient population, I worked over my English and Korean language skills. I have come to discover that a job and even a good income, without another significant purpose, will not bring satisfaction. I planed to utilize my assets, namely my problem- solving affinity, strong work ethic, and interpersonal commitment, to craft a stimulating, personally rewarding career in medicine. I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self-examination, I have decided to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating. Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence - the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician.
