According to the center of the independent studies website, future planning is defined as “... a facilitated process in which individuals, their families and other members of their support team work with a coach to create a picture for the individual’s future, develop a detailed action plan, and begin to take steps toward making that picture a reality.” I agree with the definition, but would add a simple thought that would define future planning is a process of recognizing what needs areas in an individual’s life needs improvement and then what steps should be taken in order to make positive change to happen. In this paper I will talk about my future plans by starting to criticizing the process (due to the high risk that it might not be attainable), then talk about my plans while providing example of few economic facts that directly or indirectly influence my plans. I have future plans of 10 years from now, but I have to admit that they are ambiguous because they are relative to change depending on the importance of things that will happen, but those plans are: finish the undergraduate program, do my master then the doctor's degree, and open a business.
We would not make future plans if we were fully satisfied with the current life. Since there always an area of improvement in while then most of us tend to make future plans. It might be understood as criticism of the future planning process, but being realistic I understand that that process might not seem to be worth because it takes away the focus of the present. Life is short so why not focus in the already existing life and enjoy all that is given by making the best of it.
But looking in the present, I realized that all (technology, health care, social skill and so on) that is here is due to someone dreams of the future, that person took the importance of the present facts of his/her life. My present is influenced by someone desired to change. An expecific example would be the creation of a cell phone which is a result of Reginald Fessenden’s and many technicians (engineers, computer science, psychology and so on) who work for its implementation. I admit to the fear of future plans because I am weekly updating them. I hardly discuss future plans for many reasons, first life is not guaranteed for many years as we hope for.
Our planning (or worrying about) what’s happening next gives us little opportunity or inclination to examine what has just passed. Wallace (2005)
Planning is a way to respond to the changes occurring in the environment around a person systematically. Planning is an approach towards the problem solving rationally. It can be taken as a remedial tool for creating change in the current situation in systematic and efficient way.
As people grow up, they tackle their own challenges, fears begin to fester and grow inside of them. These fears have the potential to change the way people will live out their day-to-day life. Along with fears is foresight. This can aid people in the search for how to overcome, or work around their fears. Foresight can also help people picture how their fears may affect their life. Both fears and foresight have the potential to offer people life-altering choices that will help people grow. Fear and foresight can both have a large part in influencing life-altering choices, just as Nora Helmer, Florentine and a choice of my own, all illustrate.
What I found is that if one were to sit down, and think of their future realistically, they could certainly find an approach on life that will not cause one to regret the...
“Planning: is specifying the goals to be achieved and deciding in advance the appropriate actions needed to achieve those goals” (Bateman & Snell, 2004, p. 16).
The ability to stay in the present is a virtue. Most people are always living either in the past or in the future. So they are either worrying about the past, worrying about the past pains, the past results, the past failures, past relationships, past struggles or they are ruminating about the future fears, the future impossibilities, the future achievements, future possibilities. Worrying about the past or future would not benefit as you are putting yourself in a position of disadvantage. This is because thinking about the past losses or failures cannot change what has happened and ruminate about the future is not going to make that dream possible. I am going home.
I also tend to be a “now” person in which I take things as they come, and I discover the future one day at a time. By nature, I feel more upbeat about life when I can simply deal with situations as they come. My strengths best gravitate me to roles where I can handle tasks or deal with issues as they arise. Life is wonderful when I have the freedom to do what I decide is necessary. I can be grumpy on days when I am forced to follow a rigid schedule or procedure. Chances are good that I do my best work when I am allowed to deal with the day’s challenges as they approach. I am driven by my talents, and I trust myself to deal with whatever happens. Perhaps I even rely on my core values to sustain myself in facing uncertainty. The principles by which I live might permit me to accept life’s unexpected and unpredictable
The key is how we can associate more with our future self? One interesting tool, researchers used effectively, is letter writing. Write a letter from your future self to your present self.
If you use the futures time to your advantage it can greatly help you “the now alone can furnish all our needs'; allowing you to accomplish whatever you want or set out to do in life. Allow you to attain things that will outweigh and help overcome the tribulation that might present itself in your future. Almost anyone who is successful in life has taken advantage of the future and used it to overcome things and get places.
Over my head, thinking about what the future holds everyday. We don’t know what it holds though. I honestly hope that I will have many of my friends in the future. I will probably have a busy life working, raising a family, and going to college to become an X-Ray technician. I hope to also take everything I have learned from my parents and teachers to use when I am raising my family and living life. I hope to still enjoy the things I do in the future too. Practically, I would love to have a small family because it would be a lot easier than having a big family. I plan to adopt kids to give them a good home to live in. I also don’t want any of my own. The future is a big thing to think about but it is also not an easy topic to discuss
Foreclosure is an extremely serious topic for so many people. For some, it simply means that there are cheap houses on the marker, for others, it is the end of their lives as they know it. Ultimately, there really isn’t a solution to foreclosure, but there I have formulated a plan to help slow down the process.
Some people however disagree and may argue that focusing on the future motivates one to make positive present day decisions that will benefit them in the long run. Hypothetically speaking let us examine a man who has a love for cupcakes and every time he eats a cupcake, he becomes happy. He has ten cupcakes lined up in front of him. He can either eat the ten cupcakes and
This paper is supposed to be a reflection of my past and a glimpse into my future. I have a really hard time talking about my past because I don’t recall much of my child hood. I have managed to block out a lot of the memories the bad along with the good. I am not sure why but when I started blocking memories it also took the good along with the bad. So I will tell you what I can remember and what I have been told about my childhood. I will also tell you what my future holds for me and how I plan to reach that goal.
My personal vision of the future is not something I have taken a significant amount of time to ponder in the past. I have general ideas of where I see myself both personally and professionally in future but have not identified specific steps to get there or pondered why I want to be in that situation. When taking on this somewhat daunting task of identifying my future self it is important to identify my driving values, philosophy, dreams, and my personal calling. Self-reflection on these characteristics and preferences are key to a developing a successful picture of the future.
When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.
