Every one has there challenges some harder than others some easier but in my case it was pretty hard for me to learn. Mine was learnig how to play basket ball and it was very hard for me because all my life I have wrestled so it was a big change to go to basketball. As hard as it was learning how to play I had many people that did not want me to play like my dad and my wrestling coaches did not want me to play. But it was not long before I picked up basketball I was pretty good for my first time playing. Basketball was very fun but I could not shoot the ball very well or dribble it very good but I was having a blast playing with my friends. My first reason I started playing was because all my friends wanted me too but I didnt want to because as a wrestler I grew up with my coaches telling me basketball is dumb and dont play it.I thought it would be fun to play basket ball but I didnt want to dissiponint my dad or my coaches because they hated basketball but I didnt. My second reason to play was I was getting board in the wrestling off season and had nothing to do and I was a very active kid and didnt ever want to sit.An example was when I would come home from school I ahd nothing to do besides go inside and watch tv or go out side and build forts but it got
My dad used to say, " be part of something that's bigger than yourself". He always uses to force be to play sports. I chose to play basketball after seeing the all start game of 2009. Ever since I wanted to jump, shoot and Run back and forth. My dad thought it'll help be grow taller, which wasn't the case. Basket ball is more about communication but that's not true. It is about hard work, percesion, trust, being punctual and most importantly dedication. Through ethos, logos and pathos I will elaborate how being on the team change my
The majority of people view the game of basketball as a game where the team that gets the ball through the net more times wins. Anyone with any interest in the game knows that basketball is more complex than that. The big man knows he has to box out every time to get the rebound. The shooting guard knows he has to be confident and ready to knock down a shot when he is open, and the energy player has to be willing to take a charger or dive for the ball to bring life into his teammates. This carries over to the point guard position as well. The average fan and player does not see the thousands of shots in an empty gym a player takes in an effort to “be like Mike,”; therefore, the average fan or player does not understand
I play volleyball as an outside hitter for Berea College. Therefore, the question I want this statistical research paper to answer pertains to volleyball. Specifically, I want to know if there is a relationship between the height of a volleyball player and the number of blocks she has in a set. A block constitutes the deflection of a ball into the opponent’s court, directly resulting in a point. I am interested in the answer to this question for a couple of reasons. First, it directly relates to one of my passions and is applicable to my current stage of life. Also, I believe the answer to this question will help me become a better volleyball player, which is an important goal in my life right now. I believe there is a positive relationship between height and blocks per set, meaning the taller a volleyball player
Basketball, the sport that has been around for decades. An abundant amount of people play the sport. In my opinion, it’s one of the finest sports invented. The sport itself is mentally and physically challenging. I will be explaining how to play the sport, the history of basketball, and why you should play basketball.
This Sunday, I have my first basketball tournament of the year. It is in Waverly. I am kind of nervous because, it is the first of the year. I think we will do good if we keep the turnovers to a minimum. I will probably be on the bench to start. I am a backup point guard. That means, I take the ball up the court. The point guard is the captain of the court. If you want to be a point guard, you need to be aggressive. You need to have good ball control and you can’t panic to easily. Point guards need to realize that turnovers happen. The easiest thing to being a point guard, is the part where you have to be relied on to win games. That means you can’t choke in game-deciding moments. I have done that before. When I am not playing point guard,
I started off having absolutely no idea on how to dribble a basketball. The saying practice makes perfect really did help me to flourish in this sport and my passion for being on the court grew. My goal was set on being captain and in order to fulfill this desire I had to not only prove to my team and coaches that I was capable, I also had to prove to myself that I could handle the responsibility.
All throughout my life I have played basketball, and my position has always been point guard. Point guard is also known as floor general and is often viewed as the most difficult position in basketball due to the responsibilities of leadership and being at the helm of the team. To command an offense in basketball requires communication, decisiveness, and confidence in what you are doing. Being a point guard for so long, these skills began to develop and seep into other aspects of my life whether it be assigning roles within a group book report or organizing a party with friends. When playing basketball one must rely on instinct, and the repetition of having to be a leader on the court made the act of leading an instinctual task. With that
friends, as I had told my parents I would, I obsessed over the games. The only positive aspect to my life
Although my parents thought differently, they would not let me wrestle. We fought tooth and nail and I regret saying but I gave in and continued playing basketball my eighth grade year.
I started playing basketball in the fifth grade. In the fifth grade I was a quiet and shy little boy. I rarely talked to my teammates and kept to myself. As the years went by I learned how to communicate with my teammates and my coaches and began to break out of my shell so to speak. I started making more and more friends that also went to my junior high. Basketball helped me meet a lot of new people. By the time I left junior high I had already a core group of friends I hung out with that I met from playing basketball.
Basketball kept me and my friends connected we watch it and play it whenever we get the opportunity.
Can you imagine playing the game of basketball without a three point line? Basketball has constantly changed throughout history and continues to change today. The National Basketball Association has risen in popularity and is now one of America’s more popular sports. Because basketball continues to be a popular sport, a fan should learn about the origin of the NBA, how the game evolved from the late 1940s to the early 2000s, and how the players today impact the way it is played.
Cry every time but basketball always makes me happy even I don’t have girlfriends besides I have my family and friends to keep me push and play hard on the court they are my true inspiration . they don’t leave me alone even when im sad or happy and the most inspritional is my best friend van and anjo jethro and the last but not on list lance chua he is always there and teaching me how to play basketball to uncle move to basic playing basketball he is my beshy and my mother always buying me a new fresh kicks. Basketball is one of the interesting sports I have always wanted to engage myself even as a little child. It was a dream come true when I started playing basketball in my high school. Moreover, I was very good in it, and I became the team leader. Of course, I enjoyed every bite of the time I spent playing basketball. My participation in basketball, has had numerous effects on my life, and these are physical, personal and social.
When I was four, I received my first Fisher Price basketball court. The court was in my house and the basket was only five feet tall. My parents placed it in the living room since it was the only room in the house without carpet. I practiced shooting every day. I would wear my father’s sneakers and imitate basketball moves that I had seen on T.V. At that age, I did not yet have any self-awareness about my potential for the sport, but my father knew it was very likely to become a passion. By the age of five, my father was taking me out to the park with a basketball and I can actually remember the day I made my first basket. After that, I went on to play in basketball leagues, as well as work out with my father in gyms every night. Those were the best of times.
