Machines and their working always fascinated me. As a child, I used to often enjoy playing with mechanical toys and objects. Machines seemed magical to me then, they seemed to operate mysteriously. To me as a child, the inner workings of machines and the simple purposes they serve were endlessly fascinating. This fascination later turned to a passion and an obsession for machines. Choosing Mechanical Engineering as a course was a step towards transforming this passion into a fulfilling sense of purpose.
Born in a family that strives for excellence and perfection. An attitude for excellence and perfection were natural to me. My perseverance, my pursuit for excellence and my readiness to challenge my ultimate limit enabled me to achieve self transcendence time and again during my past education, whether topping my class in higher secondary or being in the top 10% of the class through my under graduation, I have achieved every success through strong willpower and persistence.
During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to be exposed to a full range of mechanical engineering courses, all which tended to reinforce and solidify my interest in mechanical engineering. My willingness to go outside the realms of the syllabus helped me in obtaining excellent academic grades and an in depth understanding of each subject.
As part of my academic training , I undertook projects that tested my fundamentals and applied skills. My final year project, ‘Production of Rocket Motor Tube by Reverse Flow Forming’ was carried out at Bharat Dynamics Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence. I feel that Georgia Institute of Technology, as a known research university that encourages thinking big and fearless pursuit of grand challenges, is a place where I can gain the knowledge and expertise required to embark upon a career in research and teaching. I am confident that with my undergraduate degree in Mechanical engineering and Industrial related experience, I will be able to make a meaningful contribution towards the ongoing research. Post Master’s, I hope to either continue in a high level research position or work in a academia as a professor.I look forward to joining your department as a graduate student. I am confident that graduate studies in your university will prove to be a rewarding task and I shall be able to fulfill my career objectives.
