Six months ago I decided that I needed an animal companion. I did a lot of research about Maltese dogs. I looked through the internet to learn if that was the right dog for me. After I was done with my research about Maltese, I looked through newspaper ads and visited the animal shelter to see if I could find one. I came upon an ad in the newspaper for some six month old Maltese puppies, which a lady was selling. When I first saw the puppies, I was surprise to see how cute they were. There was one lying alone by him-self in the corner of a box. He has long, with flowing fur that was very straight and silky. He had a pure white coating from head to paws, with some brown specs under his eyes. This puppy was unique with a short curled up tail over his back, like a fishing hook tied on a fishing line. I chose to buy this puppy because it looked different from every other puppy. All of these puppies had floppy ears like a bloodhound dog, but the one I chose had an ear that seems out of the ordinary. His left ear was flipped inside out, like it has been taped on his head. He looked so cute and cuddly. Happy feeling and emotions toward me is not always the best. I bought him for $400 dollars. When I first brought the puppy home, my family yelled at me for wasting my money. I was happy that I now had an animal companion to play with. He is still young and was still scared of his new surrounding. He cried every night, just like a newborn baby missing his mother. Now months have passed and he is still crying, I tried my best to make my dog feel comfortable and safe around me. I padded him on the butt when he uses the carpet as a restroom, as if he was outside in the backyard. He now fears me when he knows that he did wrong. When I see him, I yell out his name and say, "Time out for you." He will run along and hide behind the sofa.
How much is that doggy in the window? The one with the waggly tail? Well, if you knew where that puppy came from, you may think twice about purchasing the canine. Puppy mills have been around for over fifty years. (Madonna Of the Mills) In these mills, the people who are in charge of the dogs, also known as breeders, are breeding female dogs left and right. Not only are they breeding them every chance they get, but they are performing this task in very unsanitary conditions which causes serious health issues to these animals in the mills. While puppy mills can help people who want to find a breed of dog that is hard to find, puppy mills need to be terminated due to the puppies being mistreated and abused, the overpopulation
Year after year people buy puppies from big breeders. Have you ever wondered where that puppy grew up? What kind of conditions the puppy lived in? Most puppies that someone would buy from a pet store are raised in puppy mills. Puppy mills are well-known for their “inhumane conditions” and the endless breeding of “unhealthy and genetically defective” dogs only for income. People should adopt rather than buy from a pet store or breeder. By adopting from a shelter, one could give a dog a second chance at a happy life.
Are these dogs misunderstood? In reality a dog is a reflection of its human, they see you as a pack leader they are who you raise them to be no matter the breed. If you neglect your puppy by chaining them up outside their whole life or keep them in
People of different ages, young and old, will love having a dog or a pup around. They even treat them as their best friend. Nevertheless, you must also think of the possible consequences that come with owning one. Effective Dog Training is necessary for your dog and you should understand you have to make an effort to socialize your dog. You have to expose your dog to the outside world, so that it will not intimidate other people.
All dogs, like humans, have the potential to either be nice or mean, respond well or poorly to the environment, and interact with others either up to par with social standards or not. The amount and type of socialization
Call to Action: Challenge your audience to be a responsible pet consumer and not purchase dogs from pet stores or from the Internet. I encourage you to instead, adopt from their local animal shelter. At an animal shelter, you can find many amazing, healthy animals. If you do buy from a breeder, use extreme caution and ask to see the puppy’s parents. Also, please contact your congressional representative and encourage him or her to help pass the PUPS bill.
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 7.6 million companion pets enter animal shelters across the United States each year, nearly evenly disrupted between dogs and cats . These animals are abandoned for reasons including families no longer being able to care for them (sickness/death of an owner), to families not wanting them (the novelty wearing of the animal wearing off), to the animals being born into puppy mills to finally animals that are loved being lost from their owners. These animals do not understand what is happening to them and rely on the kindness of humans to provide for them in shelters until their forever home can be found.
I invested in a rescue Rottweiler. Harley was the sweetest, loving dog that I have ever owned. He was really scary looking, but never growled at anyone other than my x husband. Rottweilers are dogs that mirror their owner’s emotions. The only time I felt that scared was when my X was around. It was amazing. Suddenly I slept through the night. Harley chased my X back to his car on one occasion. That was the last time that he came to my house. I only got my Harley for a little over a year. He was an old dog that lived kind of a rough life. He passed away from bone cancer. I now have a five year old Rottie named Soder (the name means Keeper from
A few years ago my husband Ryan and I decided to get a dog. For several weeks we made trips to the Regina Humane Society, waiting to find the perfect dog for us. We never even entertained the idea of buying a pure bred. I didn't want to buy a pet from someone who breeds dogs for profit when there are so many homeless dogs in need of a second chance.
I met the man to pick my choice of dog. I was brought into a room and in this room was a basket overflowing with sleeping puppies. They were two months old black and white but also a few brindle. Some had escaped and wandered off walking. Each one was five hundred dollars, not a price that bothered me since I saved enough for this. This small half black and white face male puppy really caught my attention. “That one!” Nothing was changing my mind on that. That puppy was going to be Bentley. All of my life, I had waited for this. He makes his arrival to his new
...iterally. Dogs have that funny little way of making you know he is happy, and, dogs are actually known to smile. A dog is a pack animal, you are their family and their responsibility to their family is to love you and protect you. A dog will always return the love that you show them, such as always being at the door to greet you whenever you get home. A dog will follow you wherever you go. If your watching a movie, he will be the warmth beside you. If you are cooking in the kitchen, he will be at your feet waiting for just one ingredient to drop to the floor. A dogs love for its owner is a true love.
Have you ever been influenced by some important person that helped you be the person that you are today? I have been. The people that have had influence on me are the most important humans beings, my family. But before I begin talking about my family, I want to describe to you the place that we spend most of the time together which also means something important to me and my family. This place is called the family room. This room is small but cozy. It is painted in white and has three windows decorated with beautiful curtains. By the windows you can appreciate a nice view of some beautiful trees and a nice pool. On the walls there are some family photos like the ones that show where my brothers and I were born, my graduation photo, some family members photos like my grandparents, and some paintings made by one of my brothers. Also inside this room there is a nice home theater that includes a nice stereo and TV, and a new compact computer. But this is not all, this room has some very comfortable furniture and I can say that they are comfortable because I use them to watch TV, a movie, or just sit and rest. Also the furniture is used by my brothers to sit and play nitendo, to study, or play with the computer. But from all this furniture there is one chair that is the most cozy chair that I have ever sat upon and that is my father's chair. So this is our room, which is very important to us and has a lot of special things, but the most special part of this room is when it brings my family together.
Everyone needs a best friend in her lifetime. She needs somebody that she can trust and go to with her problems. A best friend should be there for you all the time, no matter what the situation may be. In my case, I have known my best friend for my entire life. My best friend happens to be my younger sister, Brittany. She is only thirteen months younger than I am, so we are very close. Having Brittany as my best friend has made me into the person I am today. She has taught me how to trust people, how to resolve my problems, and how to open up and express my feelings.
When I started hanging out with Anthony I met Pancake first (her nickname is Patty or Pattycake). I was really scared of her when I first saw her because she was a big dog and all the pets we have at home are small so I wasn’t used to her size. She didn’t bark at me she just wanted to jump on me and always smell me. After awhile I would pet her more and more and then I wouldn’t mind her being all up on me. When you first look at her she looks kind of silly because her bottom teeth just stick out. I don’t know what kind of dog she is but I love the way her fur looks. Junior didn’t come along till later, Anthony’s mom bought junior from a friend and he is a smoky grey Pitbull. They got junior before they moved houses so he was still a baby. Now he is 5 months. A week ago he got out of the gate and he was lost for about two days but then we found him thankfully. Junior likes napping with Anthony’s mom, he loves eating fruit loops and he loves Pattycake. I love his fur color and how he is so tiny right now. I know he is going to get a little bigger and right now he is going through a teething stage which is cute but it has the yard tore up. Both of these dog are wonderful and I love that they are so sweet and playful. Even though they are not my dogs I still cherish
Who is the most significant person in my life? Well, that is easy enough to answer. However, there is not just one significant person that is in my life. My mother and father are the most important people in my life. I couldn 't possibly just pick one of them to write about because they both mean so much to me, and there is so much to tell about the two of them. From cuts and bruises all the way up to the major stuff, such a broken heart, they have always been there to patch me up, and repair the broken heart. They are my shoulder to cry on, and my motivation when I feel like I can’t handle life. I would definitely not be the person I am today without the two of them. I’d consider myself lucky to be half the person that they are.
