My story starts in the mid 70's as a young teenager; I was working at a service station, pumping fuel into automobiles and cleaning the gas station bay area after school. As time went by, I found my school grades falling behind because of work and by my sophomore year I barely passed. As a result, I found myself repeating the 11th grade in my junior year of high school. The only option that I had was to attend summer school, and I did after enrolling in a summer school program for a $100.00 fee. I drove to the class which took me clear across town. I proceeded through my senior year just like any other student with the anticipation of graduation. I went to my prom, paid for my cap and gown along with ordering my class ring and class photobook. To my sad surprise just two weeks before graduation I was summoned to my counselor's office. It was then that I learned that I needed two more credits to be able to graduate. It was also then that they informed me that this error was just detected and that I would need to attend summer school for the remaining classes or credits. As graduation approached, I kept reminding myself that I needed to make up the two courses so that I could finally get my high school diploma. But as destiny would have it my life started happening; I went on to become a Pennsylvania state inspection mechanic and air conditioning certified mechanic. Then after twelve years of working on automobiles, I knew I wanted a change, and as luck would have it, I got accepted into the Police Academy where I was educated and trained to become a certified municipal police officer. I was a civil servant for 18 years of service and now finally thirty-eight years later I found the time to return to what I always longed for, a chance to obtain my high school
