Motor vehicle theft occurs in almost every city in the world. The reports of motor vehicle theft vary depending on the areas where it may occur. There areas with high rates of motor vehicle theft and there are also areas with a very low incident report. Hence, it is important for you Dr. Zawisza, mayor of Laredo, Texas, to look into your city’s motor vehicle theft, in order to reassure your community to not panic, and that you, as the mayor, are working on a workable solution to this problem. Thursdays are risky days to leave your vehicle unattended, because according to our results on motor vehicle theft, it occurs throughout the day. When it comes to Saturdays, this is especially when motor vehicle theft is at its peak, between the times of 1 and 9 in the morning there is an evened out time that vehicles are stolen. We can conclude that for these two specific days motor vehicle is highest because of various reasons. One could be that, on Saturdays, people are in public most of the time shopping, at the movies, or eating with friends and family. This allows criminals to take advantage of this open window, while the owners of the vehicles are preoccupied. The reason that motor vehicle theft is committed frequently late at night could be for numerous reasons. The vehicles owners are having a good time inside of the clubs, which are always overpopulated on Saturdays. There are more vehicles in one location, which aid the criminals to blend in and easily steal the vehicle. Late at night means less illuminated areas for criminals to take advantage. If there is a vehicle left unattended at night where there is not sufficient light, then this vehicle is prone to be stolen. Likewise, vehicles are also in danger of being stolen early in the morning due to the reason that those people that stayed up late will more than likely
