The modern revolution has had more positive impacts than negative. If you think about it our world today is evolved because of the modern revolution and the anthropocene of humans. During the modern revolution many good things came from it such as population growth, inventions and discoveries and the acceleration of knowledge. Knowledge is what comes from education and as time passes by we develop new ideas and learn more. With collective learning we have been able to bump up the life expectancy from 27 years at birth to 65, from 1700-2000 (Population Trends, Text 01). With the life expectancy increasing there has been no need to have to give birth to more children, instead the total fertility rate is predicted to decrease. The more that rises the more complex it gets as time passes we can see that technology accelerates. During the years 1800 to 1850 inventions such as the Electric battery and photography were created, but we see that from 1950 to now everything has become electronic whether it is from emailing to sending humans to space (Inventions and Discoveries, Text 04). But why was this the outcome? Well with the idea of more complex societies and more ideas literacy and education played a big role in this. In 1850, only 10 percent of the world’s population, or about 120 million people, could read and write; today nearly 80 percent of the world’s population, or about 5.1 billion people are able to do some reading and writing (Literacy and Education, Text 03). The modern revolution has provided mass communication, and new powerful inventions such as weapons. With this many governments have used these new powers to control their own populations or to wage war on other societies and peoples (Wars and Killings by Governments, Text 07). With governments having more power the result of that are killings. Total murders by Governments in 1900 and 1989 were about 169,202,000. But the increase in populations the result is the increase in pollution. Carbon Dioxide is a chemical compound composed of elements carbon and oxygen.
