It was June 24, 2015 and we had gotten a call from Johnny, “Mindy is in the hospital!” Quickly, my Mom and Dad dropped what they were doing and turned the car on. Everybody ran to the car without fail,we were heading to Clarion. Before we left, I called Mahliah, when she answered she knew what was happening and ran to my house. We were all very impatient. Just waiting was hard to do. Rewind to a couple months ago to the day before Mindy and Johnny had told my mom. I slept over at their house and the first thing they did was to show and tell. First Mindy told me that she was pregnant, then she showed me the ultrasound. I was so happy, I was ready for a new niece or nephew. Then the next day we went to my mom’s restaurant They told my mom …show more content…
So I frantically tried to help with the decorations and helped out as much as I could. When the day came Mindy had made a paper that said if we thought it was a boy or girl to write our name. Everybody thought it was a boy because of superstitions and thoughts but I thought it was a girl. The side that said it was a boy was full of names, and the girl’s was mostly blank, maybe like three or five names. Basically there was barely any names. So we were having fun and we were eating together as a family. Then it came to the revealing if it was a boy or girl. Everybody in the room was anxious to see if it was a boy or girl. So when it was time, Mindy and Johnny had a box in front of them. Silence filled the room. They opened the box and out flew a Pink balloon then another, and another. Soon Pink balloons filled the room. I froze, then out of nowhere I yelled, “I knew it!” My mom had given me this look, and she was not too pleased because she thought it was a boy and we made a bet between each other. Before the party we made a bet, and if one of us won we would have to do something for each other. After the baby shower we headed …show more content…
She is a hyper, social butterfly. She loves to talk to random people that pass by. She is pale with light brown curly hair, and brownish-greenish eyes. She loves each and every one of her family and friends. She has a older brother named Benjamin and is now waiting for younger brother or sister. I love my niece and nephew and I honestly don’t know how this all happened. I swear Johnny and Mindy are all over the place. I don’t even think that I’m an Aunt, like honestly I ask myself when did this all happen! I have always been there for Mindy and Johnny and I have been there for their children too. I love my family and they love me. Pretty soon I will be an Aunt to
Lewis & Clark, Beowulf, and Amelia Earhart all have something in common with the main character of Their Eyes Were Watching God, Janie Crawford. All these people have embarked on a quest that have resulted in the betterment of themselves. In this novel, Janie’s quest has many goals that change throughout the book. Her initial assessment of what she’d like to “accomplish” in her endeavour is to find true love and gain independence. Throughout the book however, Janie’s quest eventually evolves from her initial superficial assessment of her wants, to that of the overarching “true” meaning of her quest, one that causes her to find herself and become a complete person.
I thought her stay would last a day or two but days turned into weeks and weeks turned into a month. It wasn't until we had a family session at a hospital that I found out that she was in the living at the hospital. The meeting was all in Karen so I didn’t understand much of what people were saying. That summer of 3rd grade, I only saw my sister for a month and I had no idea what happened to her.
Discrimination against women has been prevalent for centuries now. From the nurturing/emotional stereotype, housewife status, lower pay in the workforce, to sexual abuse and more, women have suffered it all. However, Kate Chopin goes to the heart of what women have been deprived of most, a personal right without which freedom would have no meaning or value: self assertion, reflection, and independence. According to Harold Bloom, “Chopin offers concentrated descriptions of moments that shatter social complacency, that quickening of consciousness which gives birth to self-desire, self-recognition, and, in Chopin’s fictive world, consequent despair and self-alienation” (51). Critics predominantly agree that in her highly acclaimed short story, “Story of an Hour,” Mrs. Mallard’s death is the result of a more intricate, spiritual reason than merely her heart problems. Having experienced an intense self reflection process that gave her the opportunity of a spiritual awakening and liberation that few women experienced then, the sight of her husband reminds Mrs. Mallard that she would have to give in to her husband and patriarchy again. As such, both her mind and body automatically choose physical death over spiritual imprisonment, after discovering the joy of freedom.
•The main theme of the story is finding oneself and true love. The main character, Janie Crawford’s journey to find her true self and real love through all her hardships.

It was the middle of the night when my mother got a phone call. The car ride was silent, my father had a blank stare and my mother was silently crying. I had no idea where we were headed but I knew this empty feeling in my stomach would not go away. Walking through the long bright hallways, passing through an endless amount of doors, we had finally arrived. As we
In the short story "The Story of an Hour", Kate Chopin describes an hour of a woman, a new widow seems to be, who incidentally recognizes a new free life and enjoys it just in a short moment; one hour right after getting a news of her husband's death in an accident. She has everything and nothing all in the same moment "an hour." The author delves into Louise's thoughts and feelings, and they surprisingly contradict her initial description of her. It is this intimate look at Louise that reveals the true cause of her death.

After a night of talking and enjoying our time out, we drove home to watch and movie and go to bed. One our way home, I recall seeing an ambulance rush by us, heading towards Portland but we did not think anything of it. So, we got home and went upstairs to go to bed. The morning was when we found out what had happened.
Sad that we were forgotten, we were barely hungry anymore. When the kids went up for food, we stayed behind. From across the hall, I could see our relatives having a great time gathering their food. Then, something was blocking my view. When I looked up at the face of the figure, I realized it was my Dad coming this way! Quickly, I looked over to Sam who saw the same thing I did. We waited while he slowly made his way down the hallway. By the time he made it, he knew we saw him. Just before the door frame, he stopped and waved for us to come towards him. On our hurried way out of the room, I glanced over at Maddie. She saw us leave and didn’t seem to care all that much. Although Maddie likes our older cousins, she has much more fun with the younger ones. For some reason kids love Maddie. Instead of caring about what Sam and I were up to, she turned her attention to the children whom loved her attention. When Sam and I arrived at our father, he waited to speak so we could catch our breath. “You guys want to sit with your cousins right?” Without hesitation, we nodded in agreement. “Well I guess you can…” Before he could finish, we sped up the hallway.

It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
At the time, my wife Jeanne was pregnant with our soon-to-be daughter Tahlyn. We had waited eight long months for her to arrive, and finally her due date was getting closer and closer. The excitement grew stronger as the days went by.
It all started when my mom and Maya's mom (Ms.Pfeiffer) said that "We needed to start babysitting." I told Ms.Pfeiffer "Don't worry I'll babysit Maya for you!" She laughed. Before we knew it the week came and we to start the 1 week camp. We arrived and walked in. The gym was big and lonely because we were every early. Hours passed and it was time to get started. This old Russian women came in, she gave us teddy bears, a manual, and fake baby dolls. (That looked very real) The women told us to be " Very careful, with your baby and treat it like your own!" Moments later Maya popped the head off the fake baby doll, in her hand she was the baby head. Everyone stop and looked at her with their mouths wide open! After that the old lady got started
