This old Russian women came in, she gave us teddy bears, a manual, and fake baby dolls. (That looked very real) The women told us to be " Very careful, with your baby and treat it like your own!" Moments later Maya popped the head off the fake baby doll, in her hand she was the baby head. Everyone stop and looked at her with their mouths wide open! After that the old lady got started

There is a problem in Texas impacting children’s futures; many childcare centers and homes are not providing children with quality care. In an article about cost and quality in Texas childcare, child development experts Susan Eitel and Joyce Nuner quote a study stating “that [nationally] only 10% of infants and toddlers are in high quality [childcare] programs” (34). The term ratio describes the number of children one caregiver is watching. This number is one of the major factors in the quality of a childcare program. Organizations such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children know as NAEYC release recommendations regarding ratios and accredit programs based on their compliance. Childcare centers and homes must comply with certain minimum standards enforced by Texas regarding ratios; however, these standards often set the bar lower than recommendations made by these early childhood experts. The current standards in Texas do not ensure that all young children receive quality care; for this reason, the Texas Department of Family Protective Services should strengthen the minimum standards regarding ratios to better regulate the quality of care children receive.

Two words, foster home. When I was nine years old I was put into a foster home because of what happened in my life. Quote: “life may not go where you want it to go but you will always end up where you are meant to be. As a young girl I had my life planned out, the friends I wanted to make, and the school I wanted to go to. That all changed when I turned nine years old. As a nine year old I never expected to end up in a foster home. As a child not know what a foster home is, I knew it was going to be terrifying. When I was nine I went through two foster homes in just THREE MONTHS! I switched foster homes the first time because I did not feel comfortable in the home I was in, nor the neighborhood. I would cry a lot and, I was really stressed out for those three months.
Although foster parenting is one of the most rewarding experiences, it can also be an exhausting journey. The parent must have compassion, understanding, and tolerance for the children. It involves nurturing and providing a safe environment to previously traumatized or neglected children. And the children must grow and learn from their experiences. Both the parents and the children must overcome the frustration and exhaustion in the system. Inadequate service and training can lead to poor family bonding. Therefore, a child needs nurturing to be a functional citizen of society. The foster care system is supposed to offer a family, not perpetrators. However, there are some foster parents who contribute to the child’s behavior, in which affects
Born and raised in a society in this world where technology is all around me, I happen to be prone to it. A society where I can walk upon a street with numerous of people who appear to be face planted into their cellular devices. Some use their phone to speak to a voice control. By easily pressing a button, their words are then molded into questions that are answered by an anonymous voice. Another half may be placing an order for an Uber or Lyft transportation service to take them to a certain destination. And then there are some who are luring to find the best restaurants in the area so they have the possibility to ask an app like Yelp, which focuses on reviewing businesses and sharing information about them(Fuller). It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
I just have to make sure the house doesn’t burn down while moms gone. Babysitting isn't as easy as it seems. I learned the hard way. Mom asked me to baby sit my little brother and sister once while she went to run a few Arends. I thought ok sure I got this, but I was wrong and would soon find that out later.

On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
“Car accidents are the leading cause of death for children ages 1-12 years old” (Nienstedt 140). The disturbing fact is many of these unfortunate accidents could have been prevented with the use of proper child restraints. Many of motor vehicle deaths involving child are because a child safety seat was not used or not properly installed. In the United States there are some crucial steps that must be taken in order to reduce the number of future death due to caregiver negligence. Child safety seat law should be made of a national level in order to eliminate any gaps in the current state-to-state child safety seats laws. Theses law need to be made to reflect
Responsibility is an important thing when it comes to babysitting. It all started during the 09’ summer vacation, when I wanted to babysit for some extra money to go shopping with my friends that were going to come visit me all the way from Canada. I knew that my neighbors were going out to San Francisco for about six hours, and couldn’t find a babysitter yet. So, I asked my mom if I could go next door and ask them. She said I could, and I had my first summer job.

Without having any experience with kids, I thought to myself , “How simple it was going to be babysitting three kids” I was wrong. It was difficult, and I gave up so much of my time for this friend without getting much in return. Choosing to babysit a friends children caused so many problems. I would have never imagined my first job experience being so dreadful. Working for a friend was a discouraging experience, because I did not have
