Police tactics are completely justified and the public should not concentrate on the race of the criminal or the officer, but on the criminal and his/her crimes. Militarization of the police has been only for the safety of the public, and the officers themselves.

Recent Police events have caused a massive debate on the use of lethal force. Much of the debate can be credited to the recent shootings of Michael Brown, and John Crawford. Also, the death of Eric Garner in New York due to police force. Along with this, the police are being accused of using this lethal force because of the race of the criminal. In a police officers mind, race does not play a factor on when to use lethal force. Their job is to keep the public safe, and when they hear that there is a man pointing a gun at people in a public store, that’s what they will do, whether white or black. These cases have happened to be a black criminal with a white police officer, and there is no reason that it would be different if it was the other way around. If there was a black officer, and a white criminal, they would do the same thing to keep the people safe. On another point, the equipping of police with weapons and armor etc., has been for a reason. This special equipment is for the safety of the officer, and the safety of the public. SWAT teams outfitted with this equipment have brought down many drug dealers, murderers, and saved many hostages. Due to them, those drug dealers will not be selling drugs to your family or friends. Also those murderers will not be able to get to anyone because they are now in jail. Force used by police is for a reason, not race, not religion, but for the safety of themselves and the people around them.
