In any society, the simple need for protection and law enforcement is crucial. Not only do police officers’ carry its duty to serve and protect but also security officers, airport police and the transit police emulate the same the same qualities to ensure citizens that they are being protected. The different styles of authority uniform can contribute to the way one might respond to these figures. Persuasion toward authority can vary depending on location and how close do uniforms resemble police officers. Different influences can also view the characteristics-color, style and fit of uniforms and negative make assumptions because of recent events. The tradition was first established in London, where the world’s first police force was in London, United Kingdom of 1829. The first worn uniforms were red and white, so citizens can easily detect an officer, the decision was changed to dark blue. Dark colors make law enforcers easily detectable when out in public (Why are Police Uniforms blue?, 2012). Psychological studies that dark colors signify power. Unconsciously the color of authority uniforms changes the way people view them. Also darker shades have the advantage of being worn, as darker colors hide stains ensuring a clean look at all times. The style of police uniforms contributes to how society sees them. The shoulder always carry extra material, creating an illusion to broad shoulders. The uniforms are never form fitting, and the pants are in a cargo style, making legs look bulky and large. These features can create a muscular look that isn’t really there. The movement BlackLivesMatter have outed hundreds unlawful officers and victims that never got the justice needed. The same characteristics (color and style) that emulates strong, noble people can backfire. Black people in this country who actively resist dehumanization makes a call to action and a response to anti-Black racism in our current society. (Cullors, 2015) The growth of the movement has moved country-wide, first starting in the south; the south had always had history of racism and anti-black impulses. This movement is continuing to carry up north and west, and is projected that any officer can be the next one to unlawfully kill another black individual. These immoral police officers are no different from the rest of the police force, their uniforms are no different color or style they do not have different titles, there is no distinction between the these two types of officers. African Americans are persuaded to be more cautious and angry towards police officers; anyone with a cop uniform can be considered a threat to their life. Innocent cops were murdered in retaliation to the unfair judicial systems that are not punishing these cops.
