Today I will write a short story (Not really short) on the G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) player in basketball, Michael Jordan.
Childhood & Early Life:
Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Before I get into his success as a well-known professional Basketball player and a businessman for one of the biggest clothing brand today, let’s talk about his story growing up!
Not long after birth, Michael and his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. His parents didn’t feel Safe living in the streets of Brooklyn and especially to raise their newborn family. Michael’s father, James Jordan, was a mechanic - worked as a General Electric plant supervisor, and his mother, Deloris Jordan, worked as a bank teller.

In the Fall of 1978, Michael was a sophomore in 9th Grade and tried out for the senior varsity basketball team. But during that time he was only 5’11ft tall and couldn’t dunk the ball on a 10ft rim. He was cut from the team because he was deemed too short to play at that level. Michael obviously wasn’t too happy after being cut. And felt embarrassed, and unfairly treated because he thought he did better than some of the other players.
Jordan was motivated to prove his worth to the Senior team. So he played for the Junior team and had several 40 point games that season. Later on he became the star of the team, he would average 25.4 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and 5.3 assists per game. In the following summer he actually grew 4 inches and trained vigorously.
Senior year & College:
At the senior year Michael was recruited to the McDonald’s All-American team after he impressed the coaches by averaging a triple double, and an impressive status of 26.8 points per game, 11.6 rebounds, and 10.1 assists.

Michael Jordan, in his prime, was thought of as one of the greatest basketball champions of all time. A shooting guard, standing at six-six, Jordan was able to out play anyone in his position. He started his career at the University of North Carolina, where he helped his team win a national championship. He then was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984-85 season. While playing for the Bulls, Jordan received many awards such as, MVP, five championships, Olympic gold medals, slam dunk contests, and many more defensive and offensive awards. Jordan simply dominated the nineties and left the game as a NBA Finals winner in 1998.
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to parents Katherine and Joseph Jackson. He was the eighth child born out of ten living in a two-bedroom home. Jackson 's father, Joseph Jackson, a former boxer, worked as a crane operator in the steel mill. His father also played the guitar in a rhythm and blues with a band called The Falcons to support the family.

In addition to his large donations, Jordan also has led many campaigns to urge and motivate children to try their best and give their all in school.
